About this ebook
Wally Ford
Born on November 7, 1957 in Augusta, Ga., I was raised an only child, by a single parent. My mother, Catherine Hollifield Ford instilled in me early in life that I could accomplish anything. I learned early to cook for myself, and having to grow up quickly, gave me the insight to put my feelings on paper. Over the years, with the help of family and friends, I have discovered a passion for cooking and writing poetry. In this book, I've combined the best of both worlds. It is my honor, and pleasure, to share with you all Fantasies and Fare.

POETRY INTRODUCTION
The fantasy section is a mere collection of the poems I’ve written over the years. They deal with many aspects of life, such as; love, friendship, heartache, and yes fantasy.
A MOTHER’S LOVE
Today is the day
To give thanks to the women;
Who’ve raised all the children,
And asked nothing be given.
From the day we are born
She is there by our sides;
She worries and frets,
And tans our hides.
A Mother can make
A stormy day bright.
A Mother will hold you,
When you cry at night.
A Mother is there
When you skin your knees.
A Mother will make you
Say thank you and please.
A Mother will teach us
The right from the wrong.
A Mother will rock us
With a lullaby song.
A Mother will give us
Her care and concern.
A Mother never asks
For a thing in return.
So as we grow older,
And stray far from home;
Let us all remember,
We are never alone.
A STRANGER ON MY STOOP
The raindrops drizzled down the window panes.
Puddles gathered beneath the downspout drains.
The lightening cracked as the thunder roared.
Who could that be knocking at my front door?
There’s a stranger on my stoop and he’s soaked to the skin.
Common sense said no, but my faith let him in.
His coat was all tattered and a little too small.
The shoes on his feet had no strings at all.
I brought him a towel to dry off his face.
I hung up his coat near the fireplace.
I’ve just baked some bread, I have butter and jam.
Would you like that and coffee,
he said, thank you Ma’am.
He sat while he ate hardly saying a word.
He didn’t leave crumbs enough for a newborn bird.
When he finished he thanked me and offered his hand.
He said, I have nothing to pay,
I said I understand.
I gathered up his dishes and started towards the sink.
I turned around quickly, but he was gone in a wink.
His coat was not there,
