About this ebook

This work is an attempt to present kingdom truth in such a way as to provoke mankind men in particular to realize that it is not hopeless. Even for the least among us. This actual text covers approximately seventy years of life as a living piece on a game board. Deep truths on how to traverse the board are simply displayed, perhaps some answers to, some age old questions.

    ABOUT THE COVER

WHEN I FIRST joined the U. S. Navy in the fall of 1970, I had decided, like most sailors, that I wanted a tattoo. I did not have a clue what I wanted, I just knew that I wanted something. It could not just be body art, it had to have a message. It had to say something and mean something.

Life has a tendency to take us to those places that we will not willing go to on our own. You know the place. It is that place that defines who we really are inside.

For my fifty-six birthday, I finally broke down and purchased my only tattoo. For over thirty-nine years, I waited for the perfect tattoo for me.

The cover of this book is a re-creation of that monumental moment when all of the pieces, of the puzzle, finally came together.

The angel represents God’s human creation-Man. The struggle between good and evil is represented by the Demon in the fire and the angel’s halo in his right hand. We are in a tug of war with good and evil. The fiery sword in the left hand represents the battle that we are engaged in every day of our lives.

The name ANDERSON appears on the belt of the angel.

After a lengthy battle with the Demons of the past, I broke through to a marvelously peaceful revelation—Hence ROMANS 9:20

Can the clay say to the potter, Why have you made me this way?

THE RULES OF THE GAME . . . . BY GOD

I USUALLY TRY to meet with some fellows from our church fellowship every morning from seven to eight am. for prayer. Some mornings are powerful petition days, some are a time of praise and then there are those days when I just sit and listen to my Father. It was one of those listening days that prompted this book. God seemed to be saying to me, ‘Try to look at life as a game but only in the sense of possibilities. What if?’ After all, who can know the depth, width and height of the mind of God.

Humans, in general, are very competitive by nature. Give a human being a game and a goal, and he will kill himself to master and win that game. On this particular day God seemed to be offering an opportunity to get from the cradle to the grave without missing the mark by way of a game. If we could just understand how the whole process works, mankind might try to apply himself to the rules of the game.

As I sat and listened for that still small voice, I began to think about the big picture. Well, at least as big as I could see it from my perch in the prayer room of our church. I pondered the fairness of life, the justice that life has for each of us and a few other angles of our existence on this planet. It was then that I saw the whole thing as a big game. Please understand quickly that it was not a game of chance or something that we would do for fun and pleasure (although we can enjoy the journey with the right mind set). The idea itself, presented the gospel in a way that I had never seen it before.

Human beings are the active, living pieces of the board and mans’ soul is seen as the trophy at the end of play. The end of play of course, was the graves we enter our eternity. How we proceed across the board and our understanding of the eternal rewards, will most assuredly sway our thinking. We would certainly like to look at the end-game.

Knowing what the end would bring, if we were to successfully traverse life, could possibly make the stakes high enough to do whatever God directed for the eternal reward that awaited people that would listen to the voice of the Father. Certainly no one wants to die, but die we all eventually will.

Now, if you fear the grave, it is very difficult to compete in the game. Fear of anything, but particularly death will arrest your ability to successfully win what God has for you at the end of play. Having a relationship with God will be the only source of peace for the journey through the game. In the process, our heavenly Father will give us the peace to even accept the grave.

The prize that awaits us at the far side of the grave is not like the material prize that champions compete for while living on the earth. In fact, without
