Chapter 1 – Night Of Horror
It was a cold winter’s night in late December, in New England; the house on the northside of Jefferson, 3245 Jefferson was eerily still. Nothing was stirring when Michael Adam Carlsmith returns home from a long successful trip in North Dakota. He is the Executive Salesman for Air 5000 makers of elite aircraft. He turns on a light to his horror blood is everywhere, he calls out to his family, no answers, runs to his daughters’ room to see them butcher in their beds, turns franticly runs to his boys’ room across the hall. The room is bloody, walls, bed, floor, and the lamp all is covered with blood the boys are not in there beds. He calls out to the boys with no answer in return. He see a trail of blood leading to the closet. He follows the trail and slowly looks in. There he finds them in a heap of one flesh. Falling to his knees in utter grief from the sight of this horror, it dawns on him he has not found his wife. He forces himself slowly open the door of his room expecting to see her body, to his surprise she is not there. Thinking she might have escaped. He quickly goes from room to room looking hoping to find her hiding in a dark corner of the house, and doesn’t find her cringing anywhere in the house.
He runs quickly to his neighbor pounding on the door, crying out for help. Help, help, call the police, my girls and sons are dead I can’t find my wife. Help, help, call the police. I need help! Somebody call the police! I need help! The next door neighbor wakens from a deep sleep. Mr. Carlsmith asks them to the phone police, report he has found the girls and boys dead, and can’t find his wife. The neighbor has Mr. Carlsmith stay in his home while he goes over and investigates. He returns white as a ghost. He couldn’t believe what he had seen. His wife asked what was it like over there. He said, he had never seen anything like it and not to go over there.
When the police arrived Carlsmith was outside in the cold, with the neighbor he had awakened for help. He tells the officers, he had just returned from a business trip, found his children butcher, and has not be able to find his wife. The officer asks him, Do you think your wife would do something like this? It is a possibility she did this and left. Carlsmith assured the officers his wife would not do anything to her children they were her life. Something must have happened to her, she would never do anything to her children. The officers asked where he had been. He states, North Dakota, he shows them his airline ticket and the taxi receipt showing he had just been dropped off at home. They needed to search for his wife. He couldn’t find her. The officers search the house with their guns drawn, walking room to room, clearing each room, and the most harden officer could not prepare himself for the horrific sight. After they had searched without finding Mrs. Carlsmith, they called for Homicide Detectives, secured the area, and waited for their arrival.
Detective Hamilton Wilbur (Hardcore) Dixon 29, 5’6", black man, black hair, with coffee colored skin and Detective Michelle Asha (MA) Harvell, 27, black woman from California, 5’4’’ with long cold black hair, almond eyes, and creamy chocolate skin. Who arrives at the scene at 4 am, the officers reported to the detectives the things they found, and where they had Mr. Carlsmith to wait for their arrival. The offices stated, They have never seen a crime scene is horrific. The children were in their rooms butcher like animals. The mother couldn’t be found. The father has just arrived from a trip in North Dakota; he shows Hardcore and MA the airline ticket, cab receipt, and his bags still at the door. The husband found the home in this condition. He had search for his wife, after he had discover the children’s bodies. He had not touched anything. He ran to the next door neighbor for help. The neighbor came and looked the scene and didn’t touch anything. The crime scene people were inside the house collecting evidence. Hardcore turns to MA ask if she was ready to go in. She nods yes, they walk into the house. Thinking they were prepared for what they were going to see, they found they were not. They were totally unready. Hardcore drops his head for a moment. MA walks out to the front of the house. They regain their composure and return to the rooms where the children were. What type of animal could do such a thing? MA asks. Has anybody found their mother, yet? Hardcore yelled. They looked closely at the bodies. The crime scene investigators could hardly determine which boy was who. They could not determine if the girls had been sexually molested. They had been sliced like a block of cheese.
MA gives the investigator instructions of what they wanted pictures of. We want everything shot; we don’t want you to leave out anything, collect all the blood, and don’t miss anything. She’s going on, when it came to her the investigators know how to collect evidence, she apologized. We have to get this fellow. This one can’t get away.
Hardcore and MA goes next door to question Mr. Carlsmith. They walk into the home and introduce themselves to Mr. Carlsmith, showing their badges; Mr. Carlsmith, I’m Detective Hamilton Dixon, my partner Detective Michelle Harvell
Mr. Carlsmith is sitting in shock. He looks at their badges and shakes their hands. He tries to calm
