Foreword
This volume of plays excites the mind with a smooth unveiling of dramatic tensions, full of awesome rhythms. The plots are intimate and realistic, embracing much fury, romance, action and intrigue that blend to unfold the gripping stories. The volume shows how fate and destiny are intertwined, and how Man is helpless to control them. The characters are vivid. The language is heightened and the problems, within the plots, are clearly defined. The plays are rich, powerful and full of symbolism. Readers will surely find delight in this volume of plays and be influenced by the playwright’s dramatic style.
In David, Kind of Israel, the playwright brings to life the magical passion of the theatre, widening imaginations to tell the adventures of the heroes and villains.
In Mildred, he expresses the struggles of humankind that are continuously in conflict with the darkside as mankind strives to resolve what is right and moral in this existence.
Tritan’s Journey into Life and Death shows Romance, adventure, courage and spirituality as valued elements along the journey from birth to death. Mankind is beholding to the Gods, and finds itself enwrapped in crises and resolutions in order to gain an understanding of the vibrant patterns of living and what is most important to human well-being.
The Carpenter is an exciting, intense play that is bigger than true life. It embraces all the elements of the Christian experience. It takes its readers into a deeply spiritual world and enriches them to become better human beings.
Romantasm is a spectacular musical party full of beauty and indulgence. It is lavish, erotic and tantalizing. It dazzles and pervades the mind with excitement that becomes the magnet which draws both players and audience into the grand adventure.
The sensuality of Romantasm creates frenetic, sexual images in celebration of the human body. This lascivious, high-spirited journey takes us deep into the erotic realm of a Roman Festival, during which a few obsessed nobles gather into a Special Room to explore their orgasmic fantasies with uninhibited debauchery. Romantasm also expresses the philosophy of the ‘MASK’ by exposing the dark senses of Mankind.
Author’s Note
In Plays, Volume III, I show how the constant conflicts between Good and Evil keep humankind in turmoil. However, in such realms of confusion, heroes are born bringing with them the fires of endurance, courage and righteousness.
The plays in this volume show how mankind merges with its purpose to overcome perils and secure survival. In the midst of tumultuous conditions, heroes rise up to embrace all the challenging circumstances. The plots express the storms of life that create many dismal moments, but the heroes, with tremendous will-power, push back the darkness, and eventually bring hopeful light. The antagonists are full of pride and grandeur, but they are defeated by the protagonists who, standing firmly, eventually gain victory.
In these plays, I try to show the ‘joys of life’ as tonic for our humanity with which we must express dignity and humility as we strive to find purpose. We must believe that every bit of ‘goodness’ makes the world a better place for all.
These plays take my readers/audiences on a journey into that beautiful blast of light where they find new reasons for life and well-being, where they find the ‘awakening’, and try to make every moment of living worthwhile.
This stirring volume of Plays tells of Faith, Love, Courage and Sacrifice.

David, King of Israel
This is the story of Israel’s greatest king, the gentle psalmist, who rose from the lowliness of a shepherd boy to sit on the throne of a mighty empire.
He is the most human character in all of the Old Testament; for he is presented complete, with all his contradictions. David, a handsome, vigorous man, a hero of Israel, was a fierce fighter, brilliant statesman, fine father and husband. Yet he expressed weaknesses that were prompted by passion, and he showed a deep sensitivity for beauty, poetry and music.
His spirit, before God, was one of courage, faith and humility. The weaving of all these traits created the complex man whose faults and errors highlighted his genius. During his forty years of reign, the political and military might of Israel was felt as far as Babylon. This valiant king was delivered out of many waters. He kept close union with his God. He took many lovers into his arms; but his greatest lover was nature itself. Across its beauteous vastness, he was able to touch his maker; and journey from the pages of history into legend.
