Dedication
37193.pngThis is a book for the heart. The poems comprise events, people, places, and emotions that have captured my attention, heart, and mind. The book is dedicated to my daughter in hopes that it would inspire her to be all that she has ever imagined.
37191.pngCelebrity Sonnets™
(Shakespearean)
36960.pngA sonnet is a poem of fourteen
Lines. It can have formal rhyme schemes to read.
It also has ten syllables of keen
Focused content that the reader can heed.
Authors rhyme on every other line,
With three quadruple lines of rhyming schemes.
Words complement each other to combine
Mindful expressions that could make you dream.
The last two lines form a couplet of thought,
Each connected to the aforementioned
To ensure that there’s meaning rather than for naught
And giving rise to readers’ attention.
These celebrity sonnets speak about strife
And their family, career, and love life.
37196.pngKaty Perry’s Seasonal Sonnet
36963.pngKatie has a multitude of great fans,
With more Twitter followers than others,
England born, but the U.S. was her plan
To be a star like her homeland brothers.
One hundred million Twitter followers—
The first person to achieve this milestone,
A triumph that generates borrowers
Of her fame and talent that stands alone.
There’s controversy with koala bears,
Cyrus, suicidal thoughts, and the Bloom trip.
About this and others, do her fans care?
Because she’s so adorable and hip.
Katy Perry, the star of the ages,
A constant read on media pages.
38820.pngOprah Winfrey’s Superstar Sonnet
36965.pngOprah Winfrey must have the Midas touch.
It was really hard work that made her gold.
She is smart, talented, and loved much
And challenges all of us to be bold.
A media mogul, an actress too,
With vision, helping others to succeed
Through talk shows, films, and books—all she could do
To uplift the skilled to get what they need.
Like Sarah Breedlove’s products for hairdos,
Oprah also made her mark and shared her riches.
Both black millionaire women—there are few—
They are creative in their own niches.
A self-made billionaire, Oprah’s acquired.
She is a "she-ro" for all to admire!

38822.pngFormer President Barack Obama’s Sensational Sonnet
36967.pngThere was a lot of Obama chatter.
What did he enact while in the White House?
Does he have a legacy that matters,
Had strength like a lion, not weak like a mouse?
The Community Reinvestment Act
Yielded opportunity for small firms.
There’s Lilly Ledbetter’s equal-pay pact
That leveled the playing field with no burn.
The Affordable Care Act—a big deal.
Let’s thank two female Reds
and John McCain
For the no
vote on the skinny repeal.
Obamacare lives; the Reds
couldn’t steal.
He’s done so much—best pres. we’ve ever had.
His absence from office makes many sad.

38824.pngSensationalized Sonnet of President Donald Trump
36969.pngWhat does one say? His skin is so, so thin.
His rebuttals—childish, even bully like.
He should just rejoice at his shocking win.
He always rants and raves in front of a mic.
No skilled leaders
