About this ebook

Earth - Into the Fire

Three uncles have attacked Capra and SOL from the Galactic Kingdom. Capra was attacked as Lady Michelle was betrothed to the future king of the Kingdom. SOL was attacked as the future king. King Lee was raised on Earth.

SOL bore the brunt of the assault. Three uncles were bent on wiping out all life on Earth to ensure that King Lee was killed. Each uncle sent a fleet defeated by King Lees’ ‘Guardian’ StarForce, Lady Michelles’ StarForce, and Captain Lorans’ StarForce.

Eventually, a final StarForce of Quenne Suzzane arrives, and together they eliminate three hostile fleets. The three uncles have murdered King Lees’ father, Randolph. A new star nation from the attack grows to encompass by-election other sentient species from the attack. Much smaller than the Galactic Kingdom, a plan has to evolve to ensure the safety of Capra and SOL.

I am a prior owner of a Karate School - East-West Karate of Granby CT. I am ranked at 4th Degree/Dan. I write military Sci Fi / Adventure stories. I have 2 books published in print. I stopped publishing in 2011, did not stop writing. My wife had been diagnosed with cancer and that was more important than publishing. Unfortunately, she passed away and I am trying to move into the digital world. That was our goal for September 2018. I delayed it for 1 year.My books are written so that young kids can read, no sex or bad language. The books are fun to read and even non Sci Fi people have told me they enjoyed reading them.

Life has many doorways to pass through. Without a good and solid education, many of these doors could remain closed. Not focusing on education by parents and kids could prepare a child for a life of handouts. What are you planning for your kids and their future? What are your kids planning for their futures?

All Lives Matter may not become a reality until Education is held in high esteem by parents and their kids of all colors.

    Prologue - SOL Fights Back

Forces from the Galactic Kingdom have attempted an assassination on Lady Michelle, betrothed to Prince or King Lee of SOL. Caspra, a once peaceful planet, has leaped into their future by a simple act of three brothers' / uncles’ greed that no one on Caspra had known about. Caspra would be slated to discover other species in their neighborhood.

SOL would become center stage for two star systems that they knew nothing of. Caspra home of Lady Michelle and the thousands of star systems making up the Galactic Kingdom. SOL had become home to the future legal King of the Galactic Kingdom if he lived through the war.

Forces from Caspra and the Galactic Kingdom, a pit of Civil Unrest, have converged in SOL. Lady Michelle leads a small task force who had sworn loyalty to her and arrived in SOL to find a Prince or a King.

Crown Princes Francis, Reginald, and Rothchild have fleets whose sole purpose was to kill the Galactic Kingdom's true Prince and destroy a star system.

Queen Suzanne had lost her husband, King Randolph, but was determined not to lose her son, Prince Lee. Therefore, all forces would arrive in SOL at staggered times, and SOL would live or die based on each battle outcome.

Chapter 1 - Earth, the End of Silence

May those who want to take my life find shame and confusion.

Prince Francis’ fleet moved on Earth, the only planet in the system that scanned with signs of life. Francis had a fleet of faster starships than Rothchild and had the good fortune of beating both brothers to Prince/King Lee and potentially the royal seals. Admiral Hastleman had scans reflecting a massive war in progress on the surface of the planet. That made fewer people for him to deal with. Scans indicated limited nuclear capability on the world, and the missiles used were liquid fuel and cumbersomely slow. They would pose no threat to his fleet that would take up an orbit around Earth within an hour. His force had sufficient power to obliterate this planet, but the world would offer a minimal defense level. Earth posed no offensive threat to his fleet, but the Admiral’s starships would have to drain the planet of its defensive ability.

Prince/King Lee would have to be on this planet, but there was no sign of his Guardian forces. The only serious threat would be the task force assigned to guard the Prince. The size of the fleet was unknown, and that worried the Admiral. He had to expect damage to his fleet; how much was the main worry he had. Eighty starships were poised to demolish Earth, and due to cautious thinking, he had to shift twenty starships as a rear guard. Those twenty starships' firepower could allow a much faster cleansing of life on Earth, but prudence dictated this strategic placement of his force.

Admiral, we have a signal from the planet, Captain Jennilight said. Earth’s communication abilities were primitive, but he had his ‘com station’ monitoring many potential communications variations. Simple radio frequencies had been discovered with all forms of language on them. It’s from someone called the President of the United States.

Put him through, Admiral Hastleman said. He would make this simple for the Earth people: give up the Prince or perish. He would neglect to tell them that they would die no matter what.

I would like to welcome you to Earth. I am President Barrymore of the United States of America, President Barrymore said. The president was excited about the opportunity of the first contact. Finally, an age-old question of ‘did life exist out in space’ had been answered. Humankind might not be able to travel among the stars yet, but one day they would. The president’s staff had advised caution and the subtle altering of all missile targets toward space. This mass of starships could be here in peace, but a peace envoy wouldn’t need such a strong force. The president’s advisors already had key staff sequestered for safety, and all world forces were poised to defend the planet. We would like to extend our hands in peace and invite you to a state dinner in your honor.

Sir, we are not here for your friendship! We demand that you turn Prince Lee over to us! Hastleman barked out a forceful command. Failure to do so within one hour will cause your planet to be obliterated.

Sir, we don’t have a Prince Lee or know who he is, President Barrymore replied. The confusion was gaining a foothold on the president’s staff. Earth had never had a relationship with off-world species, so how could a Prince from their planet be here? Can you give us some idea of his location or what he looks like?

The Prince has been living on your planet since he was four. How he looks or where he is are not known to us, Hastleman replied to the president. He knew the Prince would have concealed his location; the president's message was being broadcast over all airwaves. If the Prince were here, he would hear the news. Perhaps the Prince would turn himself in. Our sensors have located your country in America. Below you is a country you call Cuba. Watch.

Captain, launch four torpedoes at the landmass we’ve seen called Cuba, Hastleman ordered. Four torpedoes were launched that would wipe out millions of people without a sign of remorse from the attackers. Silently the weapons fired bore through the atmosphere and found their target.

Mr. President, four missiles are inbound to Cuba. Should we stop them? Captain Mansfield asked. He had quickly come before the president and Admiral with the news. Unfortunately, time to go through proper channels would not allow for any response to the weapons.

No, Cuba can defend Cuba, President Barrymore replied. Cuba had been a thorn in America’s side for decades. All efforts to seek peaceful ways to coexist had failed many times over. Numerous presidents had tried one initiative after another to break the stalemate between the two countries, but none had worked. Keep me informed of the damage.

Four missiles sped toward Earth, specifically Cuba. Cuba was virtually alone globally, but they still had silently and, most importantly, developed hidden defenses. America had often accused Cuba of weapons ability, which Cuba vehemently denied. Today the truth would become known to the world.

Cuba launched many missiles to stop the four from heading toward land. This was a valiant effort of rockets launched from the surface, missiles that Cuba had previously denied the existence of. Today though, they might be Cuba’s only hope of survival. Torpedoes from the sky and surface missiles surface rushed forward toward each other. As torpedoes and missiles from both sides neared each other, the weapons from space accelerated. The speed they accelerated to was way too fast for any of the land-based missiles. Finally, four missiles struck land, and with the impact, massive clouds arose above the surface. Dirty nukes had been launched against Earth. These nukes from the starships yielded more power than anything Earth had or fired at the hostile naval force.

Mr. President, I trust that I have made my point. Hastleman once again spoke to the president. His face bore no signs of sorrow for his actions. I give you one hour, or your entire planet will be leveled.

Contact between the president and the Admiral broke as abruptly as Cuba had perished. Cuba had once been a prosperous island nation and now bore four massive craters and no life. The prevailing winds would carry high dosages of radiation toward Africa and the Mediterranean ocean. More lives would be lost in the next few years if Earth survived the coming battle.

Admiral, get me the world leaders immediately! President Barrymore ordered. The president needed the world leaders' council. Giving up a Prince that they didn’t have also was not an option. The force already used indicated that failure to fight was also not an option. They couldn’t wait to defend. They would have to take the battle to the starships high above Earth, and that wasn’t a task they could easily do. Make plans for a first strike, one to take out some of the starships, as many as we can.

Earth had long since been developing weapons of mass destruction, an arsenal that should never be unleashed. Once the power of so many nukes was released, it would likely generate a nuclear winter for decades, if not longer. Effectively, humanity could annihilate itself with its technology. An estimate made by the CIA placed the number of known nukes at over thirty thousand, and those were only the ICBM types. The air-to-air tactical nukes on fighters would add another four thousand in just the United States. It was not much of an offense against a power that had just wiped out a country with only four missiles. It was logical to expect that the alien craft could defend against nukes; the real question would become how many nukes they could protect against?

The Admiralty, continually monitoring the alien starships over Earth, noticed that the formation was strange. Seventy-five starships circled the planet, and twenty-five were farther away from Earth and focused on something in the direction away from Earth. Thirty-five starships were on one side of Earth and forty on the moon side, allowing for defense more beneficial to the Earth’s superpowers. Conversations between the world leaders took place over the next forty-five minutes, and a final, desperate plan took shape.

America, Europe, China, and Russia would launch thousands of missiles at the seventy-five alien starships in space over them. The attack would be preceded by an aerial assault by thousands of fighters, each launching smaller tactical nukes to eliminate the defensive systems these starships would have. If each vessel's defensive capabilities could be taxed to its limits, then the ICBMs might get through and destroy some of the alien starships. Working together, the great powers would launch almost ten thousand tactical nukes from fighters, enough to erase some of the alien starships.

Mr. President, we have fifteen minutes left to the deadline. What are your orders? Admiral Nimrom asked. All forces were being coordinated through his staff, and he required an order from the president. All fighter squads were airborne. Each fighter had tactical missiles ready to launch. They were prepared to defend against missiles from the alien craft and were positioned as high as they could fly, which was very close to outer space with current technology and fighter ability. Sir, if we launch now, they might not expect it.

Will it buy us anything? President Barrymore asked. He would prefer alternatives to fighting. Barrymore had just been part of an operation that had wiped out millions of Earth’s children, and now those left alive were placed in a similarly weak position of defending against a superior force. He considered how the tables had turned and how uncomfortable it felt being the underdog.

They probably know they have superior weapons; they most likely think we are trembling in fear and trying to decide what to do, General Ramond Sranthoth replied. In truth, even the general’s staff was very much afraid of what lay ahead in an open battle, one they might not be able to win. I doubt very much they think we will launch first. From the initial communication, I don’t think they are afraid of us, so doing what they don’t expect could give us an edge.

Launch, let’s take a chance, President Barrymore replied. His action committed Earth to war with an alien species that looked very human. They had no knowledge of why Earth was being dragged into a conflict. War took place somewhere in the galaxy, but Earth would still live in peace if not for this Prince. Send the signal.

A silent signal went out to thousands of aircraft and ICBM bunkers. With the message sent to Earth’s forces, thousands of missiles launched from around the world toward space. China would launch fewer than the other great powers and find more on the battle's defensive side. It wasn’t the world forces’ goal to sacrifice China or that side of the planet, but they couldn’t wage war from too many fronts. China had finally launched more missiles than they were thought to have, and so they wouldn’t fare too poorly.

All around the planet, small aircraft launched thousands of missiles into space. Each of the fighter-launched weapons carried a small ten-kiloton device. They targeted the alien starships above Earth in an attempt to force confusion on the alien starship commanders. Fighters from America, Europe, China, and Russia had performed their primary function and now dropped altitude to prepare to fend against incoming missiles. They would be the second line of Earth’s defense, the first being the small laser ‘star wars’ technology the superpowers had but hadn’t acknowledged that they had.

High over America, Europe, and Russia, twenty-five starships waited for their deadlines to pass before launching an assault on the planet below. The Admiral hadn’t ordered a red alert; why should anyone expect an attack from below? Earth lacked the technology to mount a close battle with starships like those of Prince Francis. Moreover, the strange thought of an attack from below had instilled an over-confidence in the Galactic Kingdom crews, and they were on standard stations, not even a yellow alert. It would be absurd for such an inferior race to move against a superior race.

Sensors on fifty Galactic Kingdom starships came to life. Each starship had officers sitting by idly waiting for orders from the Admiral. Sensors indicated small objects approaching the task force, but none of them matched what they had scanned as missiles capable of doing any damage. The severe threat from the planet below would be the large nuclear missiles, and so far, they were silent; no launch detection had been made.

Admiral, we have multiple targets inbound, a sensor station officer called out to the Admiral.

Put them on the ‘batplot,’ ordered Admiral Hastleman. His staff had moved to the board to get a picture of what was coming.

Admiral, multiple launches from the surface detected, the sensor officer announced.

These smaller objects are to divert our attention from the real attack, Admiral Hastleman said. He was beginning to admire the tenacity of this young species. It was a shame that they would need to perish; they might have become good warriors to the fleet down the road. Signal red alert to the fleet, focus defense systems on the larger missiles that should follow these smaller ones. These smaller ones shouldn’t pose any threat.

Missile defense systems on all the non-Earth starships remained silent. They awaited the actual attack of the massive nuclear-tipped missiles from ground bases. The payload of the larger missiles could do severe damage if they got past the shields. The Admiral's arrogance could have launched a counter-attack immediately, but he wanted to demonstrate his clear edge over the planet in his superiority. Thousands of smaller missiles rapidly approached the starships, closing a distance of only miles. The Galactic Kingdom starships had ample opportunity to mount a defense against some, but not all, of the missiles, yet the defensive arrays remained silent. Confidence was incredible unless it bordered on ego or pride. The Galactic Kingdom had not met an enemy that
