    Introduction

In his first epistle, Peter admonished Christians to be ready to give unbelievers the reason for their hope in Jesus Christ. In order to do so, they would have to be able to articulate and then defend their faith. The defense that they give would have to be reasonable and sustainable. This was an early call for Christians to be defenders or apologists of the Christian faith.

The second term for apologetics is ἀπολογίαG627 which is transliterated apologia. It is found in eight verses of the New Testament. Apologia is used to denote a reasonable statement or argument. It is found within This term reveals the character of the argumentation; that it is one that is sensible, intelligent, and rational. Paul
