She was so excited her toes were tingling as she walked down the aisle on her eight hundred dollars Christian Louboutin Iriza pumps made of black crocodile leather. Her confidence was on top, she was the chosen one, and she wasn’t going to let a chance like this go to waste.

The matching outfit from Armani cost more than she did in two months, but she didn’t care. It had all arrived at her doorstep with a note that wished her the best on the case.

Her hand held the Gotham briefcase from Coach in a steady grip, just like the clothes it was one of the items on her wish list, well, it was more like her bucket list. She knew she would never be able to afford to buy things like that. Almost six hundred dollars for a briefcase. But it had laid there with the clothes, and she hadn’t even thought twice about wondering how anyone would know what she wanted.

It was the trial of the century. Ten officers had been found brutally slaughtered in a penthouse apartment, there had been civilian victims as well, it had taken a month before they had found all the body parts. The suspect's husband had been the only one identified so far.

Tapped to defend the person who had been arrested for the crimes, Britney Kane was the envy of many of her colleagues. A woman that had been covered with blood, speaking words from ancient languages at the officers from the SWAT team that had entered the premises several hours later. The naked woman had walked calmly with the arresting officers to the car, a blanket covering her beauty. Now she was sitting in a cell, four floors below street level, waiting for her lawyer.
