Atlanta Street Angelz - DJ Crowe

    Chapter 1

    Dr. Angel Napoleon

Angel's silver E350 4Matic coupe backs out of her 3 bedroom 2 car garage house with manicured lawn, courtesy of Dave who she met at the RaceTrac up the street from her home. As she clears the garage, she hits the remote and closes the doors and leaves her upper middle class suburban neighborhood on the outskirts of metro Atlanta in Roswell Ga.

On the way out she makes her usual stop at the neighborhood RaceTrac. Today is fill up the tank day, a day that she dreads especially if the gas station is packed which it usually is, and today is especially packed since it is Friday.

Angel pulls into the packed RaceTrac and pulls up to the pump in the middle of the pump in front of the door behind a black 2016 Range Rover. Blocking a lane in the lot she turns on her blinker to signal she is waiting on the pump. Angel was falling in love with the big black new body style Range the more and more she saw it. While she waited she sized up the truck and the driver that was pumping gas.

Ol boy was dressed in some basketball shorts, Jordan #12, a Jordan shirt and a diamond embezzled watch that was letting off fireworks in the morning sunlight. Angel's window was tinted but the two still caught eyes through her windshield. Dude was a big nigga, not fat but husky. He was about 6’3, 250 in weight, clean cut with a trimmed beard. He was not really her type but he was a handsome young man.

Ol boy acknowledged her with a head nod then out of her peripheral a red jumpsuit walked in front of her car and up to the driver side as dude put up the pump. She was wearing a Victoria Secret sweatsuit and red Giuseppe high top sneakers. Her ass was oversized and fake and her hair was straight and flowed down to the bottom of her back. Instagram bad bitch. Ol boy walked around the front of the truck and they pulled off. Angel walked out of the store with a 20 dollar lottery ticket and a big cup of ice with a little bit of mountain dew to add flavor. Today had to be a good day, she pumped her own gas without any harassment and she made it in and out without the crazy wait.

The silver metallic paint on Angel's E350 sparkled as the sun beamed down on her as she pulled into the office park. As she pushed through the lot she sees her gay friend Terry, who has a suite in the same office park, where he sells hair weave on and offline. Terry was getting out of his black BMW X6 as she approached. Angel stopped and let down her window.

Hey you got something for me today

Terry was getting out of the car on the phone.

Hey, I'm calling you back. He hung up the phone. Hey girl, yeah it should be today . . . I'll call you as soon as it does.

Ok cause I have an appointment for this weekend . .And I like that purse.

Terry has a $3200 Kimono Louis Vuitton bag with matching sneakers.

I try baby, you know I got to keep you on your toes.

"Well I ain't got that bag, maybe I need to start selling hair

No you don't girl keep taking care of them children. It’s enough people out here selling hair. Shid Im bout to sell my business and do something else. Terry's phone went off. They already done started.

You know Beyonce in town, everybody tryin to slay.

Yeah, well they better get it today cause I got to slay too, but I got you.

You a mess . . . ok jus holla at me.

Angel parked in her reserved spot, the parking spot with her name on it, Doctor Napoleon. Before she gets out of the car she checks herself in the mirror. After freshening up her lip gloss and rearranging the curls in her hair she gets out the car and walks up the sidewalk and through the doors of In Loving Hands Pediatrics.

Sitting behind the reception desk was Mrs. Cathy. Mrs. Cathy was Angel's first hire and means just as much as she does to In Loving Hands Pediatrics. Angel was the doctor but Mrs. Cathy made everything happen. She had been there since the doors opened.

Mrs. Cathy, who was immersed in her work, looked up from the computer as Angel walked in.

Good morning Mrs. Cathy. I see you beat me here, where's your car ?

Harvey is taking it to the shop to get new brakes and maintenance, so he dropped me off. Plus I had some insurance papers I had to finish logging from yesterday.

Angel stood on the other side of the reception desk in the lobby talking to Mrs. Cathy for a few minutes then on cue, the doors opened and in walks her supporting crew Jackie and Metra. Together they made up In Loving Hands and Angel was the star of the show. Both women walk in chatting with coffee in their hands. Jackie was holding a cup holder with 3 cups in it from Rev Coffee, a small coffee shop down the street from the office. As Jackie walks in Angel grabs the cup holder from her.

Angel a large ice razz latte and Mrs. Cathy a large coffee . .  . Black as can be.

"Thank you, cause I sholl forgot to stop, thinking bout that hair. I caught his ass in the lot . . . been dodgin my calls.``

Metra started laughing. What he say ?

Angel looked like yeah right . . He said it should be in today. If it ain't i'll be at his door, give me my money back.

Metra shook her head. You just really broke that hair in, you ain't had it a month. . . What you gone do with the new hair?

Angel shook her head. Girl you know I got issues . . . I'm ready to take this shit out.

As the day dwindled down it was business as usual. Parents and kids were in and out of the office. The sound of kids playing in the play area filled the air with an occasional cry from a hungry or fussy baby.

Ok your heartbeat is fine. Now let me check your ears. Cathy places the disposable plastic protector over the otoscope and checks the ears of her 9 years old patient.

Angel walks out of patient room 7 at the end of the hall dressed in the white doctor coat, stethoscope around her neck and metal chart in her hands. She finds Metra, who is filing some papers. Angel walks up and hands her the clipboard.

Timothy Anderson is ready to check out. Write them up and schedule an appointment for next week. I want to keep an eye on that arm to make sure it's healing right.

Timothy had broken his arm last week on an A7V 4 Wheeler. Metra grabbed the chart.

If he wasn’t so damn bad . . . white folks and they kids.

Angel made the shut up girl face as patient door 3 opened and a patient and his mother walked toward them out into the lobby.

"He was better today, in fact I never saw him sit still and be quiet. You can tell he's a different child around his father. I hope he brings him from now on or we got to charge the extra.``

I hope so too cause his daddy is kind of cute and I don't even like white men.

Angel smiles and shakes her head, smells good too The two women give each other high fives.

Ok Ladies, let's keep it professional and no tempting married men. Mrs. Cathy kept typing with her back to them. Jackie walks in the room as the two women are still laughing. Timothy and his father walked up ready to check out.

You two can come this way so I can schedule you an appointment.

Metra led the way towards another room.

Oh Timothy daddy . . . girl I almost lost it in that room with that man. Jackie was fanning her face with her hand.

Angel is in the room with a young couple and their one year old little girl. She has just given the infant the last of 3 shots and the baby is crying her little lungs out.

Aww I’m so sorry pretty baby, that's the last one I promise I won't hurt you anymore. Angel reached into her jacket pocket and gives the baby a dumb dumb lolly pop.

"Ok you guys are doing a great job. She's going to be a little cranky for the next few days and her legs are going to be sore but other than that she'll be fine. I'm going to prescribe her some medicine for the pain so you guys can get some sleep.

    You guys have any questions?

Both parents looked at each other and shook their heads.

"Ok, Well if you think of anything feel free to give us a call. On your way out stop
