FROM ETHEL C. RICHARD
Of course no biography is complete without having acknowledged the people who help to make it possible to exist.
Firstly, I must sincerely thank Antonio Gellini for having chosen me as the author for his commissioned biography. He has shown tremendous faith in my skills to bring his story to the masses, has spent several months as my friend and has opened up with me in countless conversations in talks and interviews and I with all my heart can only do my very best and then lean on God that my best will meet Antonio’s expectations and will also prove to be worthy of accuracy and merit, and as interesting and colorful as the man himself. That we are both spiritually minded people goes without saying and I invite the Living God to bless this effort to bring a wisely written and sensitive true biography
to fans of this man around the world, and to do justice to his respectability and to his generosity of heart, his great vision and his remarkable life history as well.
The World Film Institute is a California based nonprofit 501 (c)3 corporation, and I as the author of this biography am doing this work purely as a donating volunteer and will receive no monetary compensation whatsoever from the Institute related to my authorship of or from sales of this book (which is my personal contribution into the furthering of the work of the Institute and toward the education of young and old alike within America and through out the world, and in doing so contributing to International Peace efforts (Mr. Gellini is an honored United Nations International Ambassador for Peace awarded this position through the WCH and Universal Peace Federation in cooperation with UNESCO, and working to promote International Unity through the Arts and Entertainment, in the instituting of Olympia Awards Competitions of Cultures and other international cultural exchange and awards competitions).
All parts of what would be my share from sales as author for this work are donated to the World Film Institute in order to benefit artists and the arts. I am not involved in the production or distributions of this work and so I cannot speak for production costs or for commissions of third parties /book retailers for that is not my affair and is of normal order of business in the publishing field and so is not within my power to dictate.
This is a history book as well as a biography and since my personal friendship with Dr. Gellini also is provable and his life and mine are connected, his biography is technically part of my own biography as well (and my biography already having been accepted into the Historical Societies), still, none the less because his biography stands on its own merit and involves his past and present personal friendships and family relationships within several international political and entertainment circles, with ambassadors, high level international dignitaries, former presidents of nations and with the royal family of Iran (Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi), I am forwarding this biography to William C. DiGiacomantonio, Chief Historian for the United States for inclusion into The United States Historical Society at Washington, DC., where it will be included as an historical biography and therefore suitable and made available for use within children’s schools curriculums across America.
Therefore I will also thank Mr. DiGiacomantonio in advance here for his acceptance of this biography as educational material of historical significance for American public grade and middle schools youngsters as part of this endeavor. It will be made available for use within schools libraries both under my name as author of the text and also under Mr. Gellini’s Name, listed under and within several historical references related to famous families, Iran, history of the American film industry, United Nations International Humanitarian and Peace Building Programs, and the new Olympias of Cultures, Arts and Entertainment. As I have stated, topics of wide historical interest are included within his biography.
Fair Use excerpts of articles from the Los Angeles Times and People Magazine have been shared in this book to illustrate pertinent information dealing with film industry practices during the eighties is an essential element in the telling of Dr. Gellini’s history––as it was Dr. Gellini’s heart for families, his personal involvement as friends with Jack Valenti (then President of the Motion Picture Association of America), their association and friendship with Dick Clark (Dr. Gellini, founder and President of the World film Institute was in partnership with the famed Dick Clark (Dick Clark Productions), and Dr. Gellini’s political activities, his meeting with then President for the United States Bill Clinton––which resulted in being instituted within law important film industry safeguards for production of family films, which brought to accountability the American film industry, destroyed the then existing American film market monopoly, and brought family entertainment into the forefront as a desirable film industry endeavor.
Thank you to former President Bill Clinton for his contribution in helping to make healthy family entertainment more accessible to the American family and thank you to former Vice President Al Gore for his continuing support of the World Film Institute and the Olympia Awards Competitions of Cultures, Arts and Entertainment and of the world wide Family Film Awards
Also, thank you to Justin Wallner (Vice President of the World Film Institute) and to Javanan Magazine for their up to date contributions to this biography.
