About Wilbur L. Brower WILBUR L. BROWER, PH. D. U. S. Air Force Veteran, Author, Educator, Entrepreneur, Lecturer. Wilbur Brower is the founder and president of W. Brower & Associates, a management consulting and training firm. Dr. Brower is a former member of the U. S. Air Force and an executive with Bell Telephone Laboratories and AT&T, where he held numerous line and staff positions. He has consulted and trained for clients such as the AT&T, The University of Memphis, DuPont Pharmaceuticals, Dow Chemical Company, U. S. Veterans' Administration, Raleigh News and Observer, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U. S. Postal Service, National CASA and Illinois Youth Advocacy Programs. He also has been a guest lecturer at Fayetteville State University, University of Michigan, North Carolina Central University and Webster University, and a visiting professor with the National Urban League's Black Executive Exchange Program (BEEP). He is also a certified high school Business Education and English teacher and is the founder and president of the Institute for Youth Development & Educational Resources (IYDER), Inc., a non-profit organization that provides training for students at-risk of academic and personal failures, and for educators who are struggling to understand and reverse academic underachievement among disadvantaged students. He has been a presenter at several national, state and regional conferences. Dr. Brower earned an undergraduate degree in English Education, an MBA in Management and a Doctoral Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Human and Organizational Development. ).

The character and nature of post-secondary education and training is a rapidly evolving process that is being fueled, in large part, by such factors as globalization, science and technology, and social changes. The confluence of these factors, plus many more, is demanding that individuals who expect to become and remain personally and professionally competitive and relevant in the workplace acquire more education and training at ever-increasing levels and rates. Concurrent with the increasing demand for education and training typically is the increase in costs. This trend has persisted for some time and has put the cost of education and training out of reach for many people who have not explored other options for acquiring the knowledge and skills they need without assuming mountains of debt or going broke.
