    Introduction

    As you will soon come to learn, this is not a history book that gives you all of the facts. When it comes to my mind of thought, I have two goals in mind. When I started to write this book, the first goal was to write a book for someone who is a Christian and who is also a patriot. My second goal was to give you a chance to have an open mind, so that you will have a desire to question the things that you were taught in your public schools; but it is your responsibility to study your Southern History and to study the politics of American History, in order to see if you should come to the conclusion as I have. The first step in learning starts with a question. Then it ends with the desire, on your part, to search for the answers. Begin with the question of I wonder.

    As a Christian forever and always, and a Confederate from my natural birth to my death, I dedicate this book to my Heavenly Father and His Precious Son, Jesus Christ, Who is my Messiah and King. Even though my spelling and my English grammar, not to mention my handwriting, are poor, it has been from my Lord God, Who has put the words within my heart; and I thank Him with all that I am. I also want to thank my family for their support; and I also want to thank a good friend of mine: Marie Howell of Marie’s Print Shop, Inc., in Salisbury, North Carolina, for proofreading all of my material. And I hope that this book will bring joy to my Southern people in the years to come, for Christ and Country!

    A Declaration Of Southern Independence

    When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for men, in order to preserve their lives, liberties, and properties, and to secure to themselves, and to their posterity, that peace, liberty, and safety, to which by the laws and of nature’s God they are entitled. To throw off and renounce all allegiance to a government, which under the insidious pretences of securing those inestimable blessings to them, has wholly deprived them of any security of either life, liberty, property, peace, or safety; a decent respect to the opinions of mankind, requires that they should declare, the injuries and oppression, the arbitrary and dangerous proceedings, which impel them to transfer their allegiance from such their oppressors, to those who have offered to become their protectors.

    We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain rights, that among those, are life, liberty, peace, order, good government, and the pursuit of happiness; that to secure those rights, governments are instituted; that whenever any form of government becomes destructive to those ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, or to renounce all allegiance to it, and to put themselves under such other government, as to them shall appear best calculated and most likely to effect their safety and happiness; it is not prudent indeed to change for light and transient causes, and experience hath ever shewn, that men are disposed to suffer much before they can bring themselves to make a change of government; but when a long train of the most licentious and despotic abuses, pursuing invariably the same objects, evinces a design to reduce them under anarchy, and the excesses of democracy and finally to force them to submit to absolute despotism, it is their right, it becomes duty, to disclaim and renounce all allegiance to such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.

    Such have been out patient sufferings, and such is now the necessity which constrains us to declare and reaffirm our right to renounce all allegiance to Congress, or the Federal government established by their direction.

    The history of Congress and its Federal Government since its control by Northern interests in 1860 is a history of continued inconsistency, violation of the most sacred obligations of all public faith and honour, and or usurpation, all having in direct object the producing of anarchy, civil feuds, and violent injustice, which have rendered us miserable, and has established a tyranny of centralized and consolidated federalism over us and our formerly sovereign states.

    To prove this, let facts be submitted to the candid world.

    While professing a strong belief in the right of self-determination for other peoples and nationalities, they refused this right to Southrons in 1861 with the peaceful formation of our Confederacy, and subjected the South to a brutal war of conquest and a forced reunion at the point of a bayonet, followed by military occupation and a century of exploitation and poverty.

    They have subsequently recommended and caused laws to be passed, the most destructive of the public good, and ruinous to individuals.

    They have excited and directed our people to alter or annual our ancient constitutions, under which we and our ancestors had been happy for many generations, for the sole purpose of promoting their measures.

    They have by mobs and riots and threat thereof awed representative houses repeatedly into a compliance with their resolutions, though destructive of the peace, liberty, and safety of the people. They have consistently through their nonfeasance and misfeasance failed to provide public order and security in the face of an every increasing criminality.

    They have, by their misconduct, reduced us to all the dangers and distress of the horrors of civil disorders and riots.

    They have erected a multitude of new offices and have filled them with men from their own body, or with their creatures or dependents, to eat out the substance of the people; they have made their officers dependent on their will for the tenure of their offices and payment of their salaries.

    They have destroyed all good order and government, by plunging us into the excesses of democracy and the ravages of civil disorders.

    They have involved us in an immense debt, foreign as well as internal, and have permitted a massive influx of foreign ownership and control of our local industries, while promoting the export of jobs to foreign lands.

    They have involved us in foreign military adventures ostensibly for eleemosynary works and for suppression of criminal intrigues, while failing to provide adequately in either of these areas domestically.

    They have engendered among our general population their mendacious beliefs in a perverse secularism characterized by an overweening and ostentatious materialism and hedonism.

    They have denied us the right to exercise our Christian heritage in our public facilities and have introduced pernicious doctrines destructive of our Southern heritage into our public schools.

    They have fostered and attempted to banish all outward and visible signs of our Southern heritage and nation.

    They have imposed an odious and blatant form of gerrymandering, repugnant to all standard of democracy and good government.

    They have passed laws favoring minority interest while disfranchising and discriminating against the majority.

    They have engendered a foreign economic system which has forced us to forsake our agrarian economy for a rampant and uncontrolled industrialization and urbanization with its concomitant malignancy of environmental damage and blighted cities. Our lands have become the repository for noxious and toxic effluents from Northern regions.

    They have wantonly violated our public faith and honour and destroyed all ground for public confidence, or the security of private property, and have not blushed to act in direct contradiction of their most solemn declarations and professions of freedom and equality.

    In every stage of these proceedings, they have not been wanting to throw out before us specious excuses for their conduct, as being the result of compromise and supposedly tending to the public good. In every stage since their public conduct began to contradict their public declarations, our minds have been overwhelmed with apprehensions; and as our sufferings have increased, our tears have flowed in secret. It has been dangerous and even criminal for us to display publicly emblems of our Southern heritage or to lament our situation in public.

    The unsuspecting confidence which we with our fellow citizens have reposed in Congress and the Federal Government has inspired their successors with very different ideas and emboldened them by degrees to pursue measures directly the reverse of those before adopted as the only just, constitutional, and beneficent towards order and good government.

    Through all of these acts they have continually and unremittingly encroached upon the sovereign rights of our States, and we have been reduced to a state of subjugation wherein we are no longer masters in our own house.

    We could fill volumes, were we to recite at large their usurpations and violations of their most sacred duties and obligations. We content ourselves with the above brief recital of facts known to the world and attested by their own records.

    We have sufficiently shewn that a government thus marked and distinguished from every other, either despotic or democratic, is unfit to rule a free people.

    We, the citizens of the south, appealing to the impartial world to judge the justice of our cause, but above all the supreme Judge of the world, for the rectitude and vindication of our intentions, do publicly state and reaffirm our right to renounce and disclaim all allegiance, duty, or submission to congress, or to any government under it, and declare our intention to dedicate ourselves to our right to exercise the right of every people to self-determination and the consequent peaceful establishment by referendum of a new Southern Confederacy, and in support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honour.

    Confederate States of America Lawful Government of the South

    We must all remember the truthful events of history and use those truths for the inspiring hope we all share, as an example for today and for all those tomorrows yet to come. Truth is the most powerful weapon ever placed in the hands of man. As Confederates we have this weapon on our side. All truth is of the Almighty God, for He is truth, and we should hold fast to the truth. Our country, the Confederate States of America, was lawfully and constitutionally formed. The lawful citizens of the thirteen member States and Territories known as the Confederate States of America, acting upon their inalienable rights given of Almighty God in creation, via the ballot box, by the consent of the governed, gave birth to a new nation. This was done, not in some dark corner, but by and through their duly elected representatives, at Secession Conventions, or by the direct vote of the citizenry, as was the case in States such as Virginia and Texas. Many States reserved the right to withdraw from the Voluntary Union of States when they ratified the United States Constitution. The United States Federal Government was certainly agreeable to the principle of individual Sovereign States ratifying the constitution, as well as any amendment thereto, since it was drafted into the original document by the Founding Fathers, many of whom later served in that same government and supported the principle. The right of a State to secede was not only set forth as a principle in drafting the original United States Constitution, but was enumerated in the 10th amendment. When the South seceded and formed the Confederacy, they made the Confederate States Constitution the Law of the Southland. The Confederate States General Government, under the Confederate States Constitution, is therefore, unto this day, STILL the only lawful general governing document of these thirteen member States and Territories of the Confederacy. Our occupation government as well as the several State Governments, acting as their cohorts, as the defacto governments, because they were instituted by, and a direct result of force. The Confederate States Government and the individual state Governments, elected under the principles of a free sovereign ballot box, and by the citizenry of the Confederacy, are the de jure governments or rightful and lawful governing bodies. The Confederate States of America, once formed as a lawful and constitutional entity; a separate, distinct and independent nation and people, was never surrendered as a nation. General Robert E. Lee and the other Confederate States Generals surrendered only the armies they themselves commanded, nothing more. President Jefferson Davis and the men who held the offices of the Confederate States Government were the only ones endowed with the power to surrender the Confederate States of America as a nation. They did not do so! The United States Government, claiming the southern States had been brought back into their Union of States could only base that claim on the aggressive use of force. Such acts are committed under force, the threat of force or duress, were not, are not, nor never shall be legal, constitutional and binding. Therefore the Confederate States of America, remains in the status of a conquered, occupied, subjugated and now culturally cleansed nation and people. The acts whereby the various State Governments rescinded their articles of secession, and rejoined the United States, stands as null and void, having been carried out by force, and outside of voluntary and continued consent, as well as outside the Confederate States Constitution. Truth and consent do not come by force, nor are military officers endowed with the power to terminate a duly elected government, nor a lawfully constituted nation. There are provision laid down in the Confederate States Constitution whereby that document may be rescinded, and none of those provisions were adhered to. Therefore, the Confederate States of America is not past tense, but remains as a valid and viable nation upon this earth, awaiting the day of its liberation. When on that day, the now vacant but valid seats in the Confederate States Government shall be filled, via special elections, conducted by the citizenry thereof. On that day, our just and righteous cause shall be vindicated. Let us pray always that we be found worthy of the good graces of the Almighty God. (22 July 1994)

    Our National Birthright

    It is stated in the 1991 Webster’s New World Dictionary that the word origin is the meaning of a coming into existence or use; beginning. It is a parentage; birth; lineage. You would also find that in the Webster’s New World Dictionary that the word nation is a stable, historically developed community of people with a territory, economic life, distinctive culture, and language in common. It is the people of a territory united under a single government; country; state.

    Therefore it is clear that our Confederate history has proven that we are a separate and a sovereign Nation known as The Confederate States of America. In every way we are qualified as it is written within the Webster’s New world Dictionary as a Nation; and we have been since we, the States, left the Union and created and formed our Nation by the grace of our God Almighty. It is also clear that the Webster’s New World Dictionary also recognized the sovereignty of the State governments, the same States that created the States United of America and the States Confederate of America. The problem with other forms of government is that they do not believe in the sovereignty and rights of other Nations; and they are also determined to create the world in their image and those Nations’ governments into their own. These government forms of Democracy, Communism, and Fascism, all fall under this category.

    That is why a government of a Constitutional Republic is the only true form of government and true freedom and liberty to the citizens of those States. In this form of government the powers are regulated and controlled by the States with guidelines. It also recognizes the sovereignty and the rights of other nations; and it prevents them from interfering with outside problems that are not a direct attack against them. It is sad to say that most of mankind has never learned anything in history and is quick to have selective memory when it comes to political history of the world. Therefore all Empires will continue to enslave other Nations, and they will continue to play the political game of King of The Hill.

    However, now that we know the truth about our National origin, we must start to proclaim it and work in order to get the United State government to recognize it. Regardless of your race, if you were born in one of the original States of the Confederacy, you are a Confederate American; and this will be our first step toward restoring our sovereign independence. We also must condemn all political and military actions of the United State, for as long as they are yoked with their Democracy and continue to hold us under siege; but it should be done peacefully. We must remind them of the Nation that our Founding forefathers intended for them to have. It is in our hope that some day they will restore their Constitutional Republic and that they (The United States) and we (The Confederate States) shall live beside each other in peace and as neighbors. This is the dream of our Confederate Forefathers. Therefore, we should strive to fulfill that dream and benefit from the fruit of independence that it will bear. Let us pray and let it be in agreement with our Heavenly Father.

    A crisis has been taking place with our children for some time now, and I am not talking about something that is just taking place in this year. It has been taking place with every generation. Every generation of our children will end up having an identity crisis. This is something that I went through when I was 15 years old. I would listen to Rock-n-Roll with long hair down to my shoulders. I would wear blue jeans and Army boots. In addition, before that, I was picked on by other children because I was a quiet person. Therefore, I learned that a quick punch to the face was a fast way to put someone in his or her place. However, the problem with that was that I was unable to let my guard down because if I did that, people might try to get the best of me. I did not know who I was or the true value of my life. And the thought of us as being some kind of a people had never crossed my mind. In my personal views as a teenager, humanity was evil and would destroy anything that was exposed to it; and the only way to save this world would be to put an end to humankind for once and for all. At the age of twelve years, I became a Christian and took Jesus into my heart; however, I never learned how to bring Him into my world and make my life a part of His.

    I can remember as far back as the sixth grade when we were studying history. The subject for one particular day was given the title the civil war. (As far back as the first grade, I can remember all of us kids pledging Allegiance to the Federalist Flag.) We learned that the southern states, who were in gray, were fighting to keep the black man down and in chains and to destroy the union and its constitution. Moreover, it was we! The United States, who went forward to save the day. A day later, I went to our family’s encyclopedia to find a picture of the battle of Gettysburg, Pa. As my dad and I looked at the picture, I asked him which side we were on. His answer shocked me because he said that it was we who were in the gray and not the other way around. I could not understand this because my people did not seem to be evil in my eyes! And we never had that southern flag in our classroom. Time went by, and I did not think much about this issue anymore. Then one day in a ninth grade science class, our teacher started talking about the theory of evolution. That is when I started questioning everything that they were teaching us in school. Being a Christian, and having gone to church most of my life, I said to myself that if they would lie to me about the creation of the universe, then what else would they lie to me about?

    That was when I started doing my own research about our history. Questions would come to my mind as to why they thought they knew more about what we fought and stood for, rather than our knowing ourselves. In addition, why did they not have enough evidence to back up their version of the civil war history? I knew that by searching the military history I would come to a dead end. Knowing this, I started to search the political part of history. This was when the answers started to shine light upon our past. After that, I started to study the people themselves. I did some reading on our first president of the Confederate States of America, Jefferson Davis; and I read about our three-star General Robert Edward Lee. For the very first time, history became a part of my life! Moreover, let us not forget the stories of our beloved General Stonewall" Jackson. Why, as you would ask me, should this matter at all? I am glad that you ask! In the Bible we read stories about people who are not of our own kind: the Hebrews, the Romans, and so forth; however those Confederate leaders were also men of Character. They were men of Christian Character. Since they were Confederates and of our southern bloodline, I could compare my life to theirs. I wanted to live my life, which was much more than this dying world could ever give me. Every day I think of those people of ours during that time; and let us not forget about the ones of which we have never heard in history.
