For me, on this occasion, I did not choose which one is the better known for commercial purposes. I decided to pick a man that God had laid on my heart for the Foreword. In his later years of life, God had put a message in him that he knew needed to be published. As you read his Foreword, one thing you will note… it is never about a book being published, it’s about the life that published the book, after all, that was who Jesus died for – for us. There! He has said it again. You don’t need to go there.
One of the many responses to most of the questions asked about The Book of Revelation. So, I did something about it; but when was I going to publish the study that I have reviewed, twice yearly, for the past four years. It was always this time, but the old fears about grammar and editing and who knows what other unforeseen hurdles lay in wait, soon put an end to that, and fuelled the doubts of my ability to produce something worth publishing. However, as I had on many occasions, I Googled Christian book publishers in Northern Ireland and for the first time, I saw Maurice Wylie Media. They offered some of the things I needed assurance on. With my 82nd birthday behind me, time was running out: I submitted my manuscript. A face to face meeting was arranged. Maurice is the sort of person you soon think of as someone you have known for a long time; someone you could trust to tell you how it is, good or bad; so, into his hands I placed my creation.
In the Maurice Wylie crèche of improvement: what I thought was perfect, my creation, my baby, was faced by a number of probing questions, each provoking a response of deeper thought; sometimes in agreement; sometimes in defence; the outcome always beneficial, giving new insights into what I thought was complete. The whole process, a learning curve allowing you to work with a dedicated professional team; whose combined experience is at your disposal to fulfil your dream. A process of agreement by consensus, that, where required, produces text that says what you meant to say, and brings forth a book more able to face the world. A process that does not in any sense deprive you of ownership; well-rehearsed by the many that have passed through the crèche.
It is said, ‘you cannot judge a book by its cover.’ That may be so. However, I believe Maurice Wylie’s team have shown how the cover can embrace the content of the book. I will always remember the first time I saw the front cover proposal; I was speechless for a
