My beloved is to me the most fragrant of apple tree

He stands above the sons of men.

Sitting under His grace-shadow, I blossom in His shade,

Enjoying the sweet taste of his pleasant, delicious fruit,

Resting with delight where His glory never fades.

Suddenly, he transported me into His house of wine,

He looked upon me with His unrelenting love divine.

Revive me with your raisin cakes,

Refresh me with your apples.

Help me and hold me, for I am lovesick.

I am longing for me—Yet, how could I take more?

T

he Shulamite’s secrets are hidden from the casual believer. They are like buried treasures of the deep things of God. The Holy Spirit who searches all things must reveal His powerful hidden nuggets to the hearts of believers. The wisdom of God brings to the surface through the power of the Holy spirit that which was hidden to allow us to know the things God has prepared for us. Intimacy with the Lord brings the rewards of knowing and experiencing Him in His fullness. Intimacy is not sex. Intimacy requires deeply knowing someone and being deeply known. The release of secrets in this love exchange empowers the believer in every area of life.

Proverbs 25:2 (Passion) states,

God conceals the revelation of his Word, in the hiding place of his glory; But the honor of kings’ is revealed by how they thoroughly search out the deeper meaning of all that God says.

The wonders of searching for the glory or hidden treasures of God leading to the discovery of the nuggets of gold in His presence, bring the believer delight. This also delights the Lord as we dig deeply into His Word. Like a child playing hide and seek, the joy of discovery brings laughter to all involved.

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory. 1Cor. 1:7
