Dedication
We dedicate this book to all the victims of Covid-19 worldwide. Some people lost their lives, health, money, career and loved ones, etc., during the global crisis. May the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, comfort them on all sides in Jesus name.
We also dedicate this book to frontline keyworkers, health practitioners, charities, law enforcement agencies, and religious leaders who worked tirelessly during the coronavirus pandemic. May the Lord bless and keep you all in Jesus name.
Acknowledgement
‘Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness’ (Psalm 115:1). We bless the Lord Almighty, who gave us the inspiration for the first edition of this book in 1996. We also thank the Lord for the motivation to revise it and add more thoughts to it in 2020.
Special thanks to all our ministry partners, pastor friends, and co-workers worldwide for your regular prayers, encouragement, and provision of platforms to share in different marriage and relationship conferences. We consider it a great privilege to serve and collaborate with you to advance the kingdom of Christ on earth. We pray that our synergy will benefit the world at large and bring a solution to many people in Jesus name.
We owe a debt of gratitude to the trustees of EVAGLO charity for supporting this project so that we can make many copies available to people at a subsidised rate and free for those who cannot afford to buy it. We publicly thank all our prayer partners, supporters, spiritual sons, and daughters for identifying with our ministry. You have all contributed to our lives and ministry in many ways.
We appreciate Dr. Stephen Adekunle, Elder Peter Daramola, and Rev. Adebola Oni (Resident Pastor, EGOC London) for taking the time to help proofread the draft of this book. The Almighty God will compensate you in Jesus’ name. We thank our lovely children (Esther and Daniel Bakare) for helping to type out some sections of this book.
Finally, we thank the brethren at Evangelical Global Outreach Church (EGOC) for their prayers and undiluted love for us all the time.

Foreword
The Power of Communication in a Christian Home by Dr. Gideon and Pastor Faith Bakare covers different aspects of communication in marriage, ranging from its definition to its complexity to its types. It also details the different levels of communication, the causes of communication breakdown, the effects of poor communication, and how to communicate successfully in marriage. In my view, the appearance of this book is timely, as it will help many families navigate communication-related issues.
A strong relationship is built on adequate communication and understanding. The authors observe that many marital problems would not happen if there were effective communication. This book ought to be read not only by Christians but also by anyone who is seeking peace within marriage. Good books have the tendency to shape the life of the reader - this book has that kind of influence. It will lift your spirit to heights of greater knowledge, wisdom, and faith regarding spiritual truth about communication in marriage.
My prayer is that much fruit will be harvested for marriage and for the kingdom of God through this book in Jesus name.
