Preface:
The Ninja evolved as a response to Samurais who were sent by their Shogun masters to collect taxes from the farmers. The farmers soon found themselves struggling to stay alive. Most of their earnings had been taken as taxes or to line the pockets of some of the corrupt Samurais. Consequently, they decided to fight back against the Shoguns. Dressed in black and using farming tools as weapons, the farmers began attacking their enemies using secret and unconventional tactics. In this book, the term Ninja
is used not only as a secret warrior, but as one who practices self-discipline and does what is right. The Ninja conducts himself/herself in a respectable way and thinks before speaking or acting. A Ninja always asks, Which decision will give me long-lasting success?
