ALSO; WITHOUT ALESIA THIS 3 IN 1 VOLUME WOULD NOT EXIST.

Dedication
This book is dedicated to Christopher Hacker; my financial advisor and a true Christian friend and his beloved deceased dog Frankie. HE IS THE ONLY PERSON ON EARTH THAT I WOULD LEAVE CALEB IN THE CARE OF IF I WAS TO BECOME INCAPACITATED OR DIE IF, CALEB WAS STILL LIVING!! And as always this book is dedicated also to my Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST!!!
Introduction
This is a story about an English/languishes talking dog that witnesses to people in the Philippines and India, etc;. and other dogs, etc. He helps the police department and has other adventures also. It is fiction and non-fiction. It would be a good book for a parent to read to a child. It has something for any age 6 yrs. (if read to) and upwards including adults. Chapter 21 is more for parents. A lot of the actual events took Place and the fictional parts you will have a hard time realizing which are true and which are made up at times. This is basically a true story. Much of it is actually real. I am sure you will know the parts which are dramatized and which are the true facts. You may readily agree you know that your pet is much the same as Caleb. I surely hope you can identify with much of this story. There are quite a few duplications in all of the SERIES books to help you remember better. I pray you have a pet as good to you as I have in Caleb, and I hope you treat him as good as your pet deserves-----the best care possible!!!!

Adopting Caleb
I watched my Boxer dog Ozni cause so much trouble in his short life. He was so abused he did not know how to love me or anything else. He constantly ran away as he could jump a 6 1/2’ fence. He was fought before I got him and still always wanted to fight so I could not socialize him. I spent approx. $6000 on him because he had heartworms when I purchased him and later lots of other problems leading to his dying of cancer. None of the neighbors liked him because he was a nuisance barker.
Nothing but nothing would shut him up. The vet gave him only 2 months to live when they found the cancer. I massaged him every day for over an hour; sometimes two. I cooked and hand fed him with special care. He made it 6 months. I wondered how I would know when to put him to sleep
and the vet. said I would just know. It was (Psalm 104:11) in the Bible that let me know when. It mentioned that the wild donkeys would go to the water to QUENCH THEIR THIRST. Ozni would lap his water and immediately throw it up. He could not QUENCH HIS THIRST. I took him to the vets. the very next day. It was the ONLY time he went in without wanting to fight.
The first picture shows how Ozni was so fierce and the second picture was what he thought of the world and death in general. He just stuck out his tongue as if to say "Nah Nah Nah Na Na Nah Na !!!!!! Ozni was NEVER EVER
AFRAID OF ANYTHING THE WHOLE TIME I HAD HIM !! In spite of his overall disposition, I loved him a lot!!!! The whole time I knew Ozni was dying I was seeking another Boxer.
This time I wanted a purebred from the SPCA shelter. I called almost every day for six months and the answer was always no. God rarely actually speaks to me but He finally said Diann ask for a mixed breed.
When I did that I was told they had one of those. I had a really unreliable computer that eventually brought up the picture of a dog’s head. I begged God to just not have him be the color brindle. I could not tell from the picture, and there was no mention of his color in the description. I told them I wanted him. They said at the shelter that I could only have him if I interacted with him. They said they could only hold him for an hour. My neighbor said she had ONLY one hour as she had other things to do that afternoon. We rapidly went to the shelter and I went directly to him among hundreds of dogs. He was the only one not clambering to get adopted. He just stayed in a head down lump. He was so depressed. He had been abandoned and it looked like he had been starved and beat. Oh horror; he was a brindle color. He was skinny with no personality but he was a purebred Boxer! My neighbor, who didn’t like Ozni, liked him. I knew God had brought us together so I could not wait to get him home in spite of his color. Going home in the car he picked me to try to cling to. Most of my other dogs except Ozni preferred my neighbor as she was a true dog person. I was told once a person gets a Boxer, a person would be hooked. I never believed that until I got my first Boxer. Now I know exactly what they meant. Boxers are the best breed for me. (It is the Father’s good pleasure to give you the best.) (Luke 12:32)
I had only had dry mouthed Boxer’s up to that point and really good watch dogs. I had learned to love the little nub tails that at first I couldn’t tell if my dog was wagging it or not. I always loved the soft hanging ears. Caleb’s ears and head were past soft. They were like the finest velvet.
C:\Users\User\Pictures\64GB Audrey\1513.jpgWhen I got him home he had separation anxiety and almost took down my back porch door. He did not know what in the world a toy was and HE WAS NO WATCH DOG! He also slobbered and had to be toweled off every time he came in from the yard or he had a mud mouth.
Every time Caleb went out to go potty he got into something burrowed in the ground. He can only be out for 5 minutes or 4 hours it makes no difference. He has to get that bug or wear himself out trying.
Once I had a pretty big mound of mulch delivered into the middle of his yard and he dug a hole like a volcano top and would stand upward on it like he was a conqueror, hence I gave him a new nickname. I called him The Lion King
because he stood on that pile of mulch like he was a king. Later he would do more things to convince me that I had nicknamed him correctly. He developed a way at the corners of the yard like he was a baseball player. He slid and pushed up almost enough dirt to climb over the fence. So far he hadn’t tried to run away. He loved to stand on those mounds like The Lion King
also. Front paws both up and even and both back paws perfect. Later I would give him lots more nicknames. Here Caleb is The Lion King.
Later he would be called other nicknames to add to the list of nicknames like Mud Mouth,
Shine Dog,
Hula Hips,
Barely Born Pup,
Velvet Ears
and others as the years passed.
After I fed him really good he started to change. I am disabled so I had a lot of time for him. He turned into The Lion king
of watch dogs also, with a different technique for inside and out. Inside he would check out the person coming in and then if I said it was alright he would make them feel at home and get excited to meet a new friend. He however, unlike many of my other dogs, would come back to me. I finally had my most loyal of Boxers. Much later I found out the complete meaning of Caleb. I had named him from the Old Testament of the Bible because Caleb was the man who always followed God.
(Numbers 14:24)
Caleb’s name actually stood for dog. Another man told me it stood for loyal dog
and my Caleb was definitely loyal to me. Another thing changed. He began to turn black, but not just black. He began to get orange tiger stripes on him. No one believed me when I told them about that—until they saw it for themselves. I am an artist who has sold hundreds of paintings though I can no longer sit to do anything like painting. It was as if God took his own paint brush and hand painted those orange stripes on him. I could never have asked for a more beautiful colors on a dog. God surely had a laugh on me.
Do I look like I’m part Tiger too?
Do you like my stripes and nub tail?
(Gen. 37:3)
Caleb and his coat of many colors; like Joseph’s many colored coat in the Bible.
TIGER STRIPES
I tried to get Caleb to eat his Dog food when I got him home, but he was not feeling too well at first. I didn’t have an air conditioner that worked properly and I think he was rather hot in my small bedroom. He liked his bed and DID eat the people food that I was eating. I played with a bowl of goodies and slowly mixed his regular food in with them. Too much people food is not good for a dog, as it may not be balanced enough for their systems. I am always concerned when a dog doesn’t eat his food and usually will end up cooking for my baby. I knew summer was going to get even hotter so I let him skip a meal or two and he ate up all his food from then on. It would come in handy in the future. Life does not always go according to a plan. I am so glad I stuck to my guns on the issue of him cleaning up his dinner.
C:\Users\User\Pictures\64GB Audrey\The Caleb 703.JPGThe Bible says If a man will not work; he shall not eat.
(2nd Thes. 3:10)
Most dogs like a toy or two but as I mentioned Caleb was not one of them. He absolutely knew nothing about what a toy was for. Today he has 28 toys and he plays with each and every one of them. He also has a twin bed pushed against my twin bed. He has lots of pillows and blankets as I do. We always sleep next to each other at night or for a nap. One thing I did not like about my ex-husband was that he snored at great volume. So does Caleb. I have to nudge him quite frequently. He is like a husband, a brother, a son, and my best friend. (Lately he is becoming my teacher.) Jesus is always first, but Caleb is second in my life.
C:\Users\User\Desktop\971.jpgCaleb with one of his 8 balls.
I was happy to have something to hold and love that loved me in return. I had almost no friends and no family that wanted anything to do with me and all my ailments. I am just too sick to be of any real good company. Only Caleb loved me unconditionally. He didn’t care about whether I brushed my hair or teeth or whether I struggled with my bad health; and especially he did not care about my past. He knew he was so loved and cared for. That was what mattered to him.
I was grateful for all that my beautiful brindle Boxer gave to me, but it was not as if he really TALKED English to me. After all, I had to face it. He was only
a dog.
We had lots of fun; Caleb and I dancing and playing and going for runs with me in my power wheel Chair. He could trot and jog and lope and gallop. He was like a well-trained show horse. He was kind of like my Quarter horse Smooter.
I had trained Smooter
myself. His name was a nickname for smoother. He usually won a lot at Horse shows. I would tell Caleb about him and just about everything under the sun that had happened in my life. I could talk about ANYTHING to Caleb. Maybe people didn’t like me much anymore but Caleb seemed to love me talking about anything. He loved the attention and he made sure I knew how much he appreciated me.
A lot of that stopped as my health got worse. I could not even sit in my wheelchair. The nerves in my back and legs were steadily getting unbearable. Caleb just adjusted to our new way of living and seemed just as happy as ever with me.
Chapter 2
A Talking Dog
I still wished I knew EXACTLY what he was thinking about. I said to him one day that I wish dogs could really talk so that I could truly understand what was really going on in his head.
AND THEN IT HAPPENED!!!! I asked him if he was happy with being my dog and not just feeling sorry for my condition. He said No Mom, I really could not have asked for a better mistress.
He SAID THE WORDS IN ENGLISH!!!! He talked. He really spoke English. How could this be? All the words were as clear as they could be. He spoke like a well-educated scholar would. I was in absolute SHOCK!!! What would I do? Maybe it was a once in a lifetime thing. I loved having him talk to me, but what if he talked to other people or they heard him talking? It was a true unexplainable gift, but could I handle the responsibility? If people knew of the unique ability of his to speak in an understandable English language; they might try to steal him to make billions of dollars. It was indeed after all---a phenomenon! This is where the non-fiction begins to sound like, and possibly you think it is, fiction. Could I trust God enough to keep him safe from the worldly quest for the almighty dollar if people did find out about his ability? God did give him to ME, right? It was so exciting; but so scary.
I just love to have my Mom listen to me talk!
After I had regained some of my composure, I proceeded to think about the more positive aspects of this talking thing that my Caleb had. I wondered if he knew God? I wondered if he knew of other dogs with the same ability. I wondered if the gift would last and how I would be able to go back in time when he couldn’t talk English. Oh it was complicated and not worth all these thoughts. Why should I worry about it, instead of just accepting it and enjoying it; I was the one messing it up!
Caleb just took everything in stride. He knew all along he had this ability. He was just not going to share it with anyone not worth receiving knowledge of this ability. I often wonder why I was chosen. Maybe God knew how lonely I really was. People had let me down most of my life but I had owned cats, ducks, horses and mice and even a dog or three, etc., but none of them had ever talked to me and with me. I had loved the story of Mr. Ed, the talking horse that had been on T.V., but I knew he was not really talking. It was just his mouth moving and a human adding the speech to that movement. My horses could do that. This was not that !!! I keep going over this many times because I want you to know the immensity of this happening. I was actually in shock for a good period of time. When Caleb first started talking to me I was so startled I could not talk back to him. He had the ability to speak English and I did not! Imagine losing your ability to talk. It must be hard on those people that have had a stroke and have lost that ability. They have to learn to talk all over again and some do not regain their speech. It was not as hard as all that for me but it was amazing just the same. Caleb was patient with me. He seemed to know how hard it was for me—a human—to understand him—a dog, that could talk the English language. He was gracious to me; with the understanding that I wish most humans had. Surely we could learn a lot about love and patience from dogs if we took the time. Instead he told me of the abuse he and other dogs that were his friends had endured in the care
of humans. He told me of the pain he had suffered at the hands of his previous owner who had starved him and beat him until every time a human raised a hand even to pet his head; he cringed. He thought he was going to get hit again. The sense of abuse was still there even with me trying to stroke his velvet head. Now that he could tell me about it I approached him much more slowly and cautiously. I only wanted him to feel nothing but LOVE from me. He told me why his left eye always turned red each and every day from one of his beatings. His worst experience of all was when that abusive owner had lost all compassion for him and turned him loose on one of our busiest highways. It was only about 6 blocks from the shelter. Thank God someone had spotted him and another little dog running from the traffic. Just a mere small number of blocks and he would not have had to live that horror. The shelter sent 3 or 4 of their agents to round him and the other little dog up. That was a very wonderful miracle.
When he got to the SPCA shelter they found he had
