    FORWARD:

The life I once knew faded into the darkness after many tragedies that befell me and I awakened to a new dawning of creativity and soul searching. The pathway to freedom comes at a price of suffering in the night of the soul, often taking a great toll on the health of the body, mind and spirit, once we but dare to tread this inward journey.

My way is not unique, as countless souls have so journeyed throughout the eons of ages and no doubt will continue to do so long after I have left this mortal coil. The only hope I have is that my bloodline and those of future generations will gain some benefit from my words in poetry, song and the written journey of the dance of life in novels that I have written. This little work draws on the conclusions of my life to date in poetry and song as I was led through the dark night to the light of a new dawning of creative output in my journey on the road of life. I trust that all who read my poetic expression herein may gain some benefit and be encouraged to step out into the unknown, using something of their God given talent and maintain a zest for living, giving and hoping.

    Introduction:

It was by sheer chance after much mental anguish and personal suffering that I found myself walking The Way of St. James on the Camino de Santiago. The tragic family and personal circumstance I experienced prior to my journey of THE WAY, I had journaled out in poetic form and chosen some of these expressions of darkness herein to give insight into what transpired to give rise to uncovering within the deepest recesses of my soul a lotus flow of creative ideas resulting in more enlightened poetry and insight for the reader.

The book is divided into three sections for easy of reading and initially follows my journey through the darkness recesses of a mind in difficulty. Dear reader, you may wish to gloss over such dark poems and for that matter I fully understand, as no one wants to suffer the slings and arrows of someone else outrageous fortunes. However, it serves to express without any apology from me that as humans we have to dig deep within to get to the depth of who we really are and what our life’s purpose is all about.

My journeys on the Camino allowed me the freedom to rid myself of dark burdens that have troubled me from my childhood and led me into the light of day in a new creative output which all came about by pure chance in meeting a rock musician who ask me for the lyric of my song Boundary Rider of which he subsequently recorded. This was the catalyst to my creative outpourings ever since and is the opening

poem of section two of this books that introduces the songs of the Camino that I have since recorded.

Section three embraces the now journey of my writings of books and music but more importantly it embraces insights that I have experienced and still do as a result of the life I now lead in my constant flow of letting go the past and accepting what
