Preface
With the busy lives that people live today, it becomes very difficult for many to find time to do much reading for enjoyment. Some find the answer by reading short stories.
They can get a story read on an airplane, while at the beach, on a train or any place they can find the extra time.
It is my hope that this collection of short stories will entertain the reader no matter what their reason is in reading them.
Have fun, I did in writing the stories.

The Beginning
The Girls of my Imagination
One day, I found myself standing in a hall in front of an office door not knowing why I was there. On the door I painted in block letters as if it was a business name and address, was a message. It read, COME ON IN, CRAMER, YOU ARE EXPECTED.
Not knowing what was on the other side of the door, I was very careful turning the doorknob. I pushed the door open and walked in. The room was full of women all dressed as if they were there for job interviews. As soon as they saw me, they all stood up as if they were expecting me and had been waiting a long time for me.
Suddenly, they were all trying to get my attention, each calling my name and waving at me to get me to notice them over the others. I had no idea as to why I was there. I had no idea why these women wanted my individual attention.
I needed some information from at least one of them, but which one do I pick? Standing in the back of the room was a tall blond and a very beautiful lady wearing a very nice green business dress. Over all the commotion I yelled, Ladies, ladies! I need to know what this is all about, and I can’t with everyone talking at the same time! Let the lady over there, in the green dress, tell me, what is going on here?
The other women looked disappointed that I didn’t choose one of them to speak.
The lady in the green dress came forward, smiling at being chosen, and said, Cramer, It’s me Karen!
she acted like I should know her. I searched my brain to remember if Karen and I had met somewhere before but could think of none. In fact, as I looked around, I realized that I did not know any of these women. As Karen came closer to me I said, I know many Karen’s, but I cannot remember ever meeting you. Please tell me what this is all about.
Karen looked at me through the eyes so beautiful they could melt the hardest of hearts and said, Cramer, we are the girls of your imagination and of your future. If you don’t write about us, we won’t exist.
I looked at her with amazement at what she just said and asked, What do I need to do?
She said, Just come over here, sit down at the table and start writing.
I did what she told me to do and the women all disappeared.
As you read their stories, I hope that you will fall in love with them as much I did writing about them.
NOT THE END

I live in an apartment on top floor where I can see the ocean from my window. The apartment has a very cool catwalk around it with a 360-degree view from the mountains to the sea.
It was one of those nights when a storm decided to make itself known to the World. I turned on the heater and soon the warmth overcame whatever drafts were trying to make their way into the apartment. The now warm apartment gave me a comfortable and relaxed warm feeling. There was one thing missing, a woman. If ever there was a light that was made by GOD to share with a woman the warmth and closeness of each other, this was it.
I grabbed my address book and looked first at all girls names I had placed four stars next to. I began to dial the numbers of each of them. Some just rand and rand. I thought that, on a night like this, someone else must be enjoying their company. Other calls were answered with a canned and boring message. I didn’t bother to leave a message as it
