I zipped the suitcase and turned to look at my mother. Will you need anything else? I asked the older woman brushing her hair, sitting by her dresser.

No, sweetheart, I think I’ve remembered to pack everything I might need, mom giggled, as I hadn't heard her in years. The light blush on my mother’s cheeks told exactly how happy she was. Gideon told me we should only take one suitcase and buy whatever we might need, but I just couldn’t… her voice faded into silence and she turned to look at me.
