Definitions – MUST READ!!
Power: Influence that, when presented, tilts favor; leverage.
Oppressor: Entity in position of Power.
Oppressed: Entity not in position of Power.
Oppress: Use of Power when used by an Oppressor against the Oppressed for the purpose of retaining the Oppressor’s position of Power.
Resistance: Physical action or inaction by the Oppressed against the Oppressor, as an attempt to deny the Oppressor the expression of Power.
Complacency: The mental state of non-motivation as held by Oppressor or Oppressed, which results in no desire to affect or change their own status of being Oppressor or Oppressed.
Complicity: Physical action or inaction by Oppressor or Oppressed, that maintains the potential for Oppression.
Compliancy: Mental action or inaction by Oppressor or Oppressed, that maintains the potential for Oppression.
Fairness: Circumstances that, when agreed upon by Oppressor and Oppressed, establish Compliance and Complicity, and appease Resistance, for the duration of the circumstances. Fairness is a virtue; Ethical.
Bide: The exhibition of Complicity and Compliancy, but without Complacency, in anticipation of future Resistance.
Words: Units of Language that carry no more meaning than their definitions; plain Language.
Language: A secondary understanding of Words that, when expressed, has the capacity to convey a more sophisticated meaning than definitions typically explain. Properly using idioms demonstrates an understanding of Language. For instance, knowing that someone who is talking to a brick wall
does not mean they’re talking to an actual brick wall, but rather that the recipient is not receptive to the message, indicates at least some familiarity with Language. Don’t be a brick wall.
Mother Tongue: A heightened understanding of Language, which produces a Sense that detects the presence of unspoken but relevant abstractions and conceptions, and can give birth to new interpretations of construction not otherwise reachable by using Words in their definitional form, or by using Language. Mother Tongue is an abstract, a level of comprehension and mental connectivity only possible by understanding the extent to which Words may be used in any given structure of Language. Mother Tongue is the highest degree of understanding, as one has become aware that Language is a construct and subsequently develops a level of interest regarding its construction. Think about lawyers and politicians; many call what they believe to be Mother Tongue spirit of the Language.
