About this ebook

Lucianity, the Perverse Religion of Christians is a book about the hidden history of the New Testament -- where it not only reveals the scripture’s mysterious origin … but also its very unique and clandestine creation. In this book, the reader will learn that Christianity, the religion that people sincerely believe and practice today, is not the religion of Christ. Instead, it is the religion of an overzealous disciple who was able to gain possession of every gospel and almost every epistle, in addition to most of the other manuscripts related to early church affairs, and then after the death of the apostolic authors, edit and rewrite them to reflect his peculiar religious beliefs and philosophy. For instance, he conflated Jesus with God, and called him Lord. That disciple is identified as Lucius, the Bishop of Cyrene, who unfortunately, never understood the spiritual nature of man, the spiritual resurrection of Christ, or the purpose for why God sent Christ on a mission to Earth. As a consequence of ignorance, and the lack of understanding by Lucius, man has unknowingly accepted the false and unorthodox beliefs of Lucianity which have been incorporated into the creeds, gospels, epistles, and a host of other bible-related documents.

This newly discovered information was deciphered by a seasoned detective when he deconstructed the 2000 year old biblical scripture line by line, and verse by verse. All Christians, who number in the billions today, will be stunned and perplexed by his findings, especially all the ministers who promote the Bible as the true word of God. Some of it is, and some of it isn’t; nevertheless, this book identifies God’s true word in Isaiah and Daniel, and it even illustrates the exactness and preciseness of His word (plus other prophetic scripture), by the use of numerous exhibits — since the detective believes a picture is worth a 1000 words. Christ flipped over the tables of the money changers signifying the coming end to the desolation that existed in the Jewish Temple. In like manner, the detective has upset an applecart full of false beliefs which will hopefully awaken people to the realization of Lucianity (or modern day desolation), and usher in the resurrection of true Christianity. “Christians” will learn the unvarnished truth about their ascribed beliefs for probably the first time in 2000 years, and more particularly, how they have been bamboozled and conned by a very clever disciple. The Bible is the most sold, and most read, book in the entire world, and yet, not a single person in the world has recognized the fact that at least 75% of the scripture in the New Testament is really the prodigious work of a secretive, behind the scenes, apostolic era Bishop. In his writings, Lucius used ancient manuscripts and even a book by Flavius Josephus to write various gospel chapters -- not the spoken words of Jesus. While looking over the Detective’s shoulder, the reader will see and learn exactly how he identified all the fraud implanted into the pages of the Bible via easy-to-understand scriptural analysis and a variety of exhibits. As such, reading the New Testament is generally a waste of time, unless one has the persistence, capability, and patience to do a thorough, time-consuming, focused, multi-year, forensic exam like the one contained inside the pages of the book “Lucianity.”

No similar criminal investigation of the Bible has ever been completed, and no similar book exists. If a person is searching for “just the facts” regarding their Christian faith, then the Detective assures all seekers of truth that they will know more about the Bible, God, Moses, Isaiah, Daniel, and Christ (i.e. the Anointed One of God) after reading Lucianity than they ever will by reading Biblical scripture. And more importantly, if they truly understand the message of Jesus Christ as revealed within the pages of this book, they should also learn something about themselves … no matter their status, rank, position, race

    LUCIANITY - John Byer

    Preface

    Introduction to Lucianity with acknowledgements

    This book was written by a seeker of the truth. Like many before him, he had hopes of discovering the elusive truth by studying the Bible. Instead, he found himself deeply enmeshed in an uncomfortable quagmire of massive scriptural fraud, artfully concealed and cunningly hidden for two millennia. After an in-depth investigation and some earnest reflection, he finally decided he had a moral obligation to share his findings with other people, especially those who devoutly believe in the false events and the false religious philosophies of a Bible forger. Since these people of faith are unable to discern the extensive Bible fraud to which they subscribe, it is anticipated this investigation will resolve many puzzling issues, and yet, provide certitude about the identity of Jesus. Ignorance is not a virtue and definitely not bliss … when a human soul is at stake.

    In this book, the reader will discover and learn countless things about the Bible, and their faith, which are not found in any other earthly source. This is not a sugar-coated, mushy-worded novel written in a pampered way to protect people’s feelings. It is a straightforward White Paper investigation into a 2,000-year-old cold case involving forgery on a biblical scale. The pages of this book will expose the fabricated stories contained in the Holy Bible and the fictitious origin of many exogenous Christian beliefs. To do this, the detective had to unearth the skeletal remains of an ancient cadaver deeply buried in an old, and long forgotten, olive grove of Thebes, Greece. People like to know who deceived them, so the identity of this Church Bishop, will be publicly announced. Sadly, his exposure rewrites history, and it also reveals the profound, abysmal ignorance of Christians about their faith.

    The removal of the sheet exposes the real history of how the New Testament came into existence. Nonetheless, in spite of all the scriptural mischief, the first two chapters of this book are devoted exclusively to uncorrupted Bible scripture; they substantiate Jesus was sent to Earth on an assigned mission by Almighty God. In this regard, most Christians are totally unaware of the intellectual, scientific, and historical rationale supporting their faith, primarily because the story has been shamefully neglected in Sunday sermons; however, it is revealed in full detail within the first two chapters. Every person will have a complete and thorough understanding of why Christ came to Earth, and who he really was, before the detective dives headlong into his investigation of "Lucianity."

    Additionally, this book was written for the ministers, many of whom clearly have a false understanding of their own faith; they routinely impart that false understanding to their congregations due to a blind belief in the integrity of Bible scripture. It is faithfully anticipated they will gain a fresh perspective on early Christian history. Hopefully, an awareness of the long-buried deceit will encourage followers of Christ to stop wasting time on frivolous phony issues, and redirect their focus to God’s true message about the spiritual nature of man. The purpose of the detective is not to destroy Christianity … but to resurrect it.

    In this investigation, the reader will follow along, step by step, looking over the detective’s shoulder as he disassembles popular Christian beliefs which were fabricated by a first-century ghostwriting forger. The reader will learn 75% of the New Testament (in its current form) was written by one single mysterious man – that’s right … one man and his name isn’t even listed among the seven to eight disciples who normally get credit (i.e. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, Peter, James, and Jude). In any event, nobody likes to be conned about their closely held religious beliefs, so this type of news could send the average Christian, into a state of deep despair and apoplectic shock, especially those who believe the Bible is the literal word of God. Be this as it may, when this traumatized Christian finally gets up off the floor, he will realize his faith and trust in the Bible as the revealed word of God has been severely damaged … due in no small part, to the enormous scale of Bible fraud created by an unknown mysterious forger. He will be hit upside the head with the realization -- Christianity, the faith he accepts and practices, is not the religion of Jesus Christ, not the religion of St. Paul, and not even the religion of the Apostles. His religion is the creation of Lucius, the Bishop of Cyrene, because it was this elusive disciple, who single-handedly co-opted every original gospel and document, before he fabricated the present- day New Testament, including all the fraud contained therein. Saint Lucius proclaimed he lied for the glory of God and as such, should not be condemned as a sinner, thus self-identifying his motive and the rationale for all his Bible mischief. For just under 2,000 years, people have been unknowingly practicing "Lucianity," a pseudo or a spurious form of Christianity in the image of Lucius, as evidenced by the false creeds, false beliefs, and all the corrupted scripture within the New Testament. His bastardization of Christianity has resulted in a perverse religion, which even Jesus would hardly recognize, but today, it is believed by billions of people.

    Nevertheless, the reader will know exactly how the Bible Sleuth reaches every one of his conclusions; every point will be explained in exacting detail, so there are no unanswered questions or lingering doubts. He fully understands people of faith will have serious difficulty digesting this new information and reconciling it with their long-held established beliefs, so he will satisfy these concerns by providing an abundance of evidence via charts and exhibits extracted directly from the Bible with full explanations. If seeing is believing, then the reader will be overwhelmed with visual evidence.

    The Holy Bible will naturally be the primary source for revealing most of the fraud, but another disquieting source, a surprise to most, will be a book written by Flavius Josephus, The Wars of the Jews. Yes, Lucius took information straight from the pages of this war chronicle to fabricate several very popular Bible chapters. As an example, one of the events taken directly from the book of Flavius Josephus has resulted in a ministry of hyperbolic preachers who believe a prophetic doomsday, or a Great Tribulation, is on God’s agenda for sometime in the future. That may be, but not because of a scenario fabricated by a forger who makes Jesus a puppet for his ventriloquism.

    The facts and evidence presented in this investigation clearly prove the prophetic belief about a futuristic calamity is a lie, and a complete hoax. The reader will learn and fully understand how the detective reached this conclusion. He will unmask the greatest case of fraud in the annals of recorded history (due to the massive numbers affected over 2,000 years) … and that, is no exaggeration! Quoting the scripture of the Bible: And behold the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom, and the earth did quake, and the rocks were rent (Matthew 27:51, ASV).

    The ghostwriting forger deftly escaped detection for two millennia until something odd was noticed in Chapter 24 of Matthew’s gospel; in this instance, the forger made a serious mental mistake when he lazily co-opted language from Josephus’ book, and put the author’s words into scriptural verse spoken by Jesus. It was right under everyone’s nose all the time … Bible verse read millions upon millions of times during the course of the last 20 centuries, but no one earnestly focused on the real origin of the words.

    Matthew 24 is chock full of verses with red-lettered print, but not one of those verses represents the words of Jesus. The same can be said for many, many other verses in the Bible. This type of fraud has persisted unabated because no one wanted to rock the boat; it has been deemed socially unacceptable to question the legitimacy and authenticity of Bible scripture. In other words, it is the same old thing: Just go along to get along, and keep your mouth shut, because no one wants to turn over the merchandizing tables ensconced inside the Temple. In any event, the blunders made by the forger, and how they were identified, will be fully explained within the pages of this detective story.

    Another example of the ghostwriter’s fraud is the physical ascension of Jesus. This cloud-raising event was also fabricated. And, it is this fiction which has done irreparable damage to the core beliefs of Christianity. In fact, it has cut the heart right out of the Christian faith. Because the church leaders of the past swallowed the story about the physical ascension hook, line, and sinker … they distorted and misrepresented the real truth of the resurrection in both the Nicene Creed and the Apostles’ Creed. They wrote these creeds without any reference to the spiritual ascension of Jesus, and the fundamental role it played in Christ’s resurrection. Instead, the creeds promoted the Mount of Olives ascension, an event that never happened, since it was only the fictional creation of Lucius.

    Amazingly, this false event can be easily verified as untrue, and a problematic story by simply reading the Bible, which is exactly what the detective did. And … after reviewing his investigation, the readers of this book will also know every detail about the Ascension, probably far more than they ever wished to know, but a good sleuth must run down every lead in order to prove his case in court. That is just what the gumshoe did, and it paid-off because an overwhelming mass of evidence was discovered identifying the ascension as a fake story. And … it was also this fraudulent yarn that finally led to the detection of the suspect’s mysterious identity (i.e. Lucius, the Bishop of Cyrene).

    Now at this point, the detective was prepared to wrap up his investigation because he had resolved the issues which were the primary focus of his original research. He had read and analysed every line in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, cover to cover multiple times, after which he did the exact same thing with Revelation and Acts of the Apostles. He never intended to investigate the epistles, because many other Bible scholars had already done so and reached the conclusion -- some of them were not the work of Paul. In fact, they identified these forged epistles as pseudonymous, a dissembling euphemistic academic term. However, if the Rapture was going to be investigated, then the detective had to look at the epistles … since this specific, hair-raising event is identified by verses inside the First Epistle to the Thessalonians. Well, to his utter dismay, via this very epistle, he would experience a sudden moment of absolute rapture himself --- as 2,000 years of hidden history were unlocked; the investigator had discovered something none of the scholars knew, and never fathomed, or if they knew, were unwilling to admit. He learned this epistle, along with many others, represented devious subterfuge, and in that sense, were not true letters. In actuality, they were a part of a clever and sneaky tactical stratagem, all designed to conceal the death of St. Paul from members of the newly formed ‘ekklesias’ or churches. The apparent purpose of the ploy was to ensure the survival of fledgling Christianity (i.e. Messianic Judaism).

    However, in spite of all the foregoing revelations about skulduggery with the scriptures, the reader will learn from the prophets Isaiah and Daniel --- the Messiah (Jesus) definitely was sent to Earth by God. Isaiah, in defined detail, predicted exactly how the Messiah would be born and die; he even described Christ’s resurrection by Light over 700 years in advance … and God’s message to Daniel was just as accurate. Daniel foretold the exact year of Christ’s appearance in Judea, and the precise day of Christ’s crucifixion over 500 years into the future. This investigation will also reveal how the corruption of the Bible has adversely prevented people from correctly interpreting the Book of Daniel, especially chapter 9, verses 24-27. These latter verses, which allegedly include the identification of a covenant for one week, are completely misunderstood, all due to the corruption of the Bible over the past several millennia.

    As a result, this mysterious covenant of seven years, identified purely by the use of forged Bible scripture … generates a false belief in a Prophetic Gap. The ‘Gap’ provides a rationale for the alleged delay in the completion of God’s word. Then, this bogusly invented Gap theory is justified by another false belief … the Second Coming of Jesus. His delayed earthly arrival is promoted to support the reason for why the final three and a half years of a non-existent (that’s right!), a non-existent seven-year covenant remains unfilled by God … except those years are only unfulfilled due to a mythical Ascension of Jesus at the Mount of Olives, where he fictitiously rose into heaven forty days after his resurrection. Does the reader have all of that?

    This in a nutshell is Lucianity and it explains the current problem with Christianity! The ignorance of preachers who spew this babble can only be excused by their earnest belief in corrupted scripture. However, teaching a pyramid of lies disguised as Holy Scripture is evil. This is one false belief after another compounded by another false belief, ad infinitum. All these false beliefs are due to clerics, priests, and ministers who preach with beautiful, pious-sounding rhythmic words, but fail to study and truly understand their own faith; it is totally inexcusable. Most of their confusion is due to centuries of Bible corruption, and hence the reason and justification for this book. In the same vein, the detective via clean and uncorrupted scripture is able to provide a fairly accurate interpretation of Daniel 9:24-27 in the second chapter of this investigative report. Therefore, an analysis of Daniel’s verses with appropriate illustrative exhibits is included, not only to correct the foregoing misinformation, but, more importantly, to illustrate the supreme majesty of God, and the undeniable truth about the identity of Jesus. Nonetheless, grab your shorts or whatever you wear, because the detective’s investigation of the New Testament establishes the following events and claims are either untrue or the fiction of Lucius… therefore:

    (1) the Ascension of Jesus (i.e. the physical) is a false story;

    (2) the Assumption of Mary (i.e. the physical) is a false story;

    (3) the Transfiguration of Jesus is a false gospel story;

    (4) Paul’s conversion on Road to Damascus is a false story;

    (5) Satan’s Temptation of Jesus is a false story; and

    (6) Jesus’ Baptism as told in the gospels is a false story.

    Plus, all the following Christian beliefs are either false or fabricated:

    (1) Tribulation (Fabricated by Lucius);

    (2) End of World or End of Age scenario (Fabricated by Lucius);

    (3) Rapture (Fabricated by Lucius);

    (4) Good Friday is a False Feast day, but not Good Wednesday;

    (5) the Second Coming of Jesus as told by Lucius is false – (A belief which proves: Christians don’t understand the Resurrection!)

    Also, the Creeds of the Christian faith are false and misstatements. The Nicene Creed is false: it misrepresents (a) the resurrection; (b) the ascension; (c) why Christ died; (d) when Christ died; (e) his Next Coming; and (f) it misstates resurrection of the dead.

    The Apostles’ Creed is false for all the above reasons and more.

    These constantly repeated Christian comments are also false:

    (1) Jesus died for our sins;

    (2) On the third day, he rose again, according to the scriptures;

    (3) Jesus is our Lord and Savior;

    (4) Jesus taught using parables; and

    (5) God is the Alpha and Omega.

    Additionally, 75% of the New Testament is so corrupted that it is almost impossible to know or discern the truth in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke; but the Gospel of John is an exception with far less tampering. However, these Bible texts are extremely corrupted:

    • The Acts of the Apostles [written by Lucius];

    • The Epistles [16 contain the fingerprints of Lucius]; and

    • Revelation [almost every chapter is the fiction of Lucius].

    Christians will ask themselves, If all this is gone, what is left?

    And the detective’s response: Only the truth, which is, God Exists! with a codicil Jesus is the anointed-one of God!" These truths are revealed in Christ’s resurrection, which will be analyzed in a way it has not been discussed before … since Easter Sunday sermons only use beautiful and pleasant sounding words which neatly dance around the reality of Christ’s true Second Coming. Intrinsically, God wanted Man to learn the reality of Genesis 1:27, and the resurrection of Jesus proved its truth. It also showed -- Man does have a soul, made in the image of God, and it exists as everlasting spiritual energy within our physical bodies.

    The prophetic messages of God reported in the verses of Isaiah and Daniel were fulfilled by Jesus exactly – proving beyond all doubt, he was the Messiah. He also confirmed his identity to John at Patmos. Plus: the burial linen of Jesus is equivalent to DNA evidence; it is the physical and scientific proof of Man’s spiritual essence, so people are cautioned … Even with this news about Lucianity, no one should get despondent. God gave Daniel an agenda of 70 Weeks, and it was fulfilled precisely -- proving a higher power exists.

    So, God is in charge! As stated previously, this is a fact-finding report into only a portion of the biblical fraud; the Bible Sleuth could not write about all the deception due to space and time. And, he didn’t create a sexy or racy novel; everything in this book is focused on the Bible and Lucianity. The limited religious ideology the gumshoe does proffer (all based on his biblical research) … is only disclosed to buttress, or dispute, a point of spiritual belief; it mostly reflects the knowledge acquired during the course of his extended Bible study.

    This is also not a book presenting years of cumbersome academic research, so the reader will not see a long, meaningless bibliography. The Detective is willing to live, or die, based on the data, facts, and the scriptural analysis he provides in the following pages which detail the specifics of his limited, but intense investigation. Thus, the only book really being read in this inquiry is the Bible (albeit many versions of the Bible), and since it is the most-read book in the entire world, with very little radical change during the last 1,600 years, one doesn’t need to be a scientist or a college-level academic with a Ph.D. in order to read it, and understand, the simple facts and information divulged. All the fraud (as described above), is very neatly wrapped up in the pages of only one book, the Bible. So, the Bible is the bibliography for this ‘white paper’ report. As such, the detective hesitates to call it a bibliography, since it is really Exhibit #1 in this probing inquiry; police detectives don’t attach lengthy bibliographies to their crime investigations, they present evidentiary exhibits. Nevertheless, the Bible is the book the author read and exhaustively studied in order to arrive at the conclusions reached in his fact-finding mission. Thus, almost every reference will reflect a chapter and verse contained within the Bible. In this regard, the reader may want to sit next to their computer, or keep a copy of their family Bible close at hand, in order to verify the data presented. Similarly, the author does cite Wikipedia, but he only cited this source after he was able to confirm the data by other methods. His purpose was to simplify the reader’s ability to validate the research presented in the investigation.

    Before presenting this book to the public, the detective decided to ask several people with diverse religious backgrounds to review his investigation. Church-going, fundamental Christians were the only people who registered strong objections to the book; they didn’t like all the negative information about their faith. They said other devout Christians (like themselves) would feel the same way and view it as an attack on Christianity. The Bible Sleuth retorted that their objections about the investigation were without merit or substance, and completely untrue because there isn’t a single word of criticism about Christ, or Christianity, in the entire book; there is only positive information about Christ. Additionally, there is no negative reporting in this book about the Christian faith, only "Lucianity," since real Christianity has not existed for the last 1,900 years. The detective also pointed out there are no devout Christians today, since only devout Lucians exist, whether they realize it or not.

    It was further pointed out … this book reports the facts of an investigation, and the results are what they are; people are free to believe the findings or disbelieve them. However, 99% of the evidence presented came directly from the Bible, so it can be accepted or rejected based upon one’s personal beliefs about the truthfulness of the scripture contained in the Bible. On the other hand, this book was primarily written for people who are earnestly seeking the truth about God, and the role Christ played in delivering God’s message to Man. Sadly, during the last 2000 years, the divine message has been hidden and concealed under a thick crust of fictitious Lucian claims and events. If readers are not interested in the cold facts about their hijacked religion, then this investigation is not for them, and they can continue to live in the perverse world of Lucianity. One more thing, and take this as a warning: there is repetition in this book, something the editor didn’t always like, but the detective insisted be kept for a variety of reasons, all of which will be justified in time.

    Unfortunately, too few Christians today are heeding the warning signs of a crumbling bureaucratic religion which exalts artificiality over substance. That’s the reason why the facts presented in this preface are upfront. That is how real-life, street-level detectives deal with problems: they confront them, and then present the facts up front. However, if readers wish to avoid the hard-to-swallow issues about Lucianity, then they can skip Chapters 3 through 13 and limit their reading to the first two chapters where they will gain a clear understanding of Christ. As such, Jesus really was the person who he represented himself to be, and real Christianity is not perverse when it hasn’t been corrupted by Man. But more importantly, readers will learn Christ’s presence on earth had only one, very specific, defined purpose. He came to substantiate Man (human beings), male and female, truly do have everlasting life [something the Jews no longer believed because they had corrupted Mosaic Law in violation of their Covenant with God: this was the Jewish ‘sin’ for which Jesus died and shed his blood.] Christ did not come to earth because of original sin or to atone for any sins committed by gentiles (i.e. non-Jews). The Sadducean Jews sinned when they violated the Lord’s Covenant and no longer believed in the Mosaic Law which reported Man possesses a soul made in the spiritual image of God (Gen 1:27). Jesus demonstrated the reality of this fact by his death and resurrection, and then years later, he confirmed this truth again by spiritually appearing to John on Patmos (Rev 1:18). Christ showed the Sadducees (and all mankind) human beings possess spiritual bodies which exist inside their flesh and survive after burial in a tomb (or a grave). And, since Man is made in the image of God, humans also have everlasting life. Such being the case, a life on earth has a far deeper meaning, and a higher purpose, than perceived by most of humanity.

    This book is dedicated to Detective RYP (aka Rosita), Badge #133, who made this investigation possible from the very start … and to the very end! Every mystery and issue was solved with the aid of this amazing soul. Many thanks, and credit are also given to Helen and Joan for their patience and constant encouragement. And finally, I thank my father Ray for teaching me the value of truth, the most faithful and honest man I ever met. For more information about Lucianity, please visit: https://lucianity.com/ –-

    ~ The Detective

    Why does Christianity Exist?

    Before taking a deep dive into Lucianity, it is first necessary to understand Christianity and the profound rationale for why it really exists. Unlike all other religions, Christianity stands alone because it is the only faith where verifiable scientific evidence confirms and substantiates the truth of God’s message to Man. In addition, prophecies and testimony also confirm the validity of Christianity. As such, with mathematical precision, Jesus Christ appeared in a pre-selected year, and then died on a pre-selected day, exactly as foretold by God over five hundred years in advance!!!

    The Lord God did this for the exclusive purpose of confirming the inherent truth of Genesis 1:27.¹ Additionally, the resurrection of Jesus proved the essence of Man emanates from the spiritual, not the physical or visible; it demonstrated Man possesses an immortal soul. Only Christianity has an abundance of evidence which corroborates the validity of this dogma: i.e. the soul lives forever and survives burial in a grave. Yet, based on the secular behavior of many Christians, it is obvious the facts about a God-planned, Lord-organized, Divinely-approved, bloody crucifixion are not accepted or understood anymore. This is sad, since it shows Christians no longer comprehend, realize, or know why Jesus died on the cross.

    Very simply, Christ was scourged and crucified 2,000 years ago just so the Sadducean Jews could escape the darkness of a world with no afterlife, or spiritual future. Tragically, Christians have now slumped into the same darkness. In fact, a typical Christian is clueless about the meaning of his life, and the reason for his self-chosen, pre-selected earthly existence. As a result, he rails against God and the demons—when in fact, his spiritual life has been hijacked by a false belief in corrupted Bible scripture and the artifice of Lucianity. This is quite understandable since many ministers do not comprehend the rationale of their faith either. Without knowing any better, their sermons promote corrupted beliefs and profess the truth of Lucianity. For these reasons, this chapter will devote itself to a thorough investigation of why God sent Christ to earth, which will resolve many of these aforementioned issues and explain why Christianity exists. It is a wonderful story.

    In the Gospel of John, it is reported Jesus said, You search the scriptures, because … they … testify about me (John 5:39). In this regard, the detective has identified about 33 scriptural verses which clearly attest to Jesus as the Jewish Messiah, although ministers claim there are many more (See Ch. 6). In any event, these numbers are too large for meaningful analysis, so the investigation in this chapter will only dwell on the scriptural verses of Isaiah which assertively confirm Jesus was a man sent by God. Hopefully, the investigation in this chapter, and the next about the prophet Daniel, will enlighten the readers to that reality.

    Even though Isaiah wasn’t the first by any means, (because the Psalms of Solomon also make clear reference to the future Messiah), Isaiah’s verses read like news alerts where he is reporting the news of the day just hours after the event. And unlike today, where fake news is so prevalent, his reporting of the news was deadly accurate, revealing every significant detail about the death and resurrection of the Jewish Messiah. His perspicacity exceeded the ability of every human, before or since, when he announced the events of Chapter 53 in explicit detail over 700 years in advance. Everyone asks: How did he do it? The simple answer is prayer. Many Jews had forgotten how to pray, but not Isaiah. He was still on good terms with the Lord, and he knew how to pray. As a result, God listened and spoke to him! The downfall of the Chosen people occurred because they forgot how to talk with God. They no longer knew the Lord, their God.

    In the Bible, the Book of Isaiah contains 66 chapters, and the detective cannot review all of them. So … he will only review the verses and chapters of Isaiah which he believes clearly address the issues of this investigation, bring understanding about the Messiah, and the religion founded under his name. It is hoped the end result will be a unified gestalt of the Judeo-Christian religion, and thus, provide a clear understanding of what really happened 2,000 years ago on Calvary, and why it happened.

    Much of the answer is provided in the very first chapter of Isaiah, but readers are encouraged to find a Bible and peruse the remaining 65 chapters of Isaiah for themselves. In any event, the message of the Lord to Isaiah was a radical departure from where things were in the past with the Jews. As can be seen in Exhibit 1A, the Lord is very disgusted with the Jews, and the corruption of their religious practices. One would not get the idea they are God’s chosen people by reading Isaiah. And that point plays a very significant role in explaining why God sent Jesus to Earth.

    The issue about the Jews being the chosen ones is completely misunderstood by the majority of the people. The Jews were not chosen just because they were Jews, or just because they were white, or just because they were smart, or just because they were inventive. The belief about their chosen status originated from language that is used in the Old Testament:

    For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God; the Lord thy God have chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people on the face of the earth. The Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all peoples: But because the Lord loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers … the Lord redeemed you …(from Slavery). (Deuteronomy 7:6-8, KJV)

    In this verse, and other verses which refer to the Jews being chosen or ‘special’ unto God, there are always qualifiers like the phrase For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God. When this scripture about the Chosen People was written by Moses, the Jews knew God, and prayed to God, and for these reasons, they were deemed to be God’s chosen, and a special people unto himself. Why special?

    The Jewish people were special … because out of all the nations on earth, and all the peoples on the face of the globe, only the Jews knew who the true God was, and Bible figures like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses knew how to pray to the real God. Everyone else was praying to Caesar, Zeus, cows, snakes, gold and silver idols, Venus, Jupiter, Mars, and whatever anyone could imagine. And in the midst of all these aimless, unheard prayers by pagans, the Lord proved that he did hear the lonely prayers of the Jews when He delivered them out of bondage in Egypt. During the time of the Exodus, the Jews were recognized as a chosen people because God viewed them as holy. This is estimated to be sometime in the 1300s BCE, but around 500 years later when Isaiah came along in the 8th century BCE, it is obvious after reading only a few verses presented in Exhibit 1A that things had radically changed between the Jews and God.

    At the time of Isaiah, the Lord had definitely changed his tune because God declares the Jewish people are dumber than oxen (since they don’t know anymore), and He also reports Israel had become a sinful nation since it had abandoned the Lord (See Isaiah 1:3-4, Exhibit 1A). However, the other points He makes are also critically important for understanding why God finally decided to send Jesus on a mission to earth. If one reads beyond Chapter 1 in the Book of Isaiah, it is learned the Jews had succumbed to idol worship and in so doing, they were adoring carved and molten images made by the hands of man. These latter words are favored by Isaiah, and he uses them repeatedly in describing the willful and wanton transgressions of the Jews. In any event, these sinful acts were strictly prohibited by the covenant (Exodus 20:4)² and they reveal the Jews no longer understood the spiritual nature of God or Man, thus justifying and revealing the theological rationale for Christ’s death on the cross.

    If someone is adoring and praying to an idol, then they are praying to something which doesn’t have any ability to hear, see, speak, or react; it’s like talking to a wall. Thus, the Lord recognized the Jews had become like everyone else in the world; they were praying to visible, material things. The invisibility of God has been a major stumbling block for humans ever since their spiritual eviction from the Garden of Eden. From a time, long before Adam, the soul of Man progressively became more entangled in the flesh and distant from God, with the end result … only a three-dimensional world is understood. Human beings cannot think outside this limited box. If Man cannot see it, touch it, hear it, smell it, or taste it, then it doesn’t exist. Thus, the reason for why God said Israel doesn’t know.

    Detective’s Note: For this reason, on bended knee, the ancient people held their ‘spread hands’ in the air and looked to the heavens when they prayed. They knew the Lord was invisible, everywhere, and anywhere, so as a sign of deep respect, they yielded to that fact by the manner and the way in which they prayed (Isa 1:15)³. It is just the opposite today, as people focus their eye sight on man-made images and pray toward them with folded hands, thus emphasizing the materialistic world over the invisible, spiritual world of God.

    Over the years, the understanding … the God of Abraham, Jacob, and Moses was invisible, with no dimensions or physical image, had vanished. The Jews either failed to comprehend, or they refused to accept the fact -- the God of their forefathers was spiritual. Additionally, like everyone else, there was probably an expectation their prayers would be answered immediately, and they would receive instant gratification. The Jews certainly dismissed the fact their forefathers had prayed for years. However, the Lord was upset about this entire turn of events for a far deeper reason. If the Jews couldn’t discern the true nature of God anymore, then they no longer recognized who they were either. This ungodly situation was further exacerbated by the Sadducee Rabbis who had corrupted Mosaic Law. They taught Man’s soul did not possess everlasting life due to his fall from grace in the Garden of Eden, a belief which induced many Jews to worship idols in order to reclaim some purpose for their mortal existence. These acts violated the First Commandment and the covenant the Jews had made with God. And, directly because to these sins … and the corruption of Mosaic Law, Christ died on the cross.

    Judaism had done a complete 180-degree turn since the time of Moses, and to synopsize, this explains why God sent Christ to Earth and later raised him from the dead. Nevertheless, it is only people who possess the capability of perceiving the true identity of God, who also have the potential of comprehending the nature of their existence. This is why Moses went into extraordinary detail when writing the Book of Genesis. He wanted to spell out the special relationship Man had with God. He tells how God made the heavens and earth, plant life, the swarms of fishes and birds, sea monsters, and also cattle, and creepy things, and even beasts after their kind. Does the reader see what is missing?

    Well, none of those creatures are made in the image of God. The Lord only made Man in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), and the Lord gave Man rule over all the above animal life. So what is the meaning of the Bible phrase man is made in the image of God when God has no physical image, shape, or form … and is only represented as spiritual energy? It means the soul or the spirit inside every human is a minuscule portion of the same spiritual energy found in God. That is the reason why Man’s soul is immortal; there is no difference (except in scale) between the spiritual energy of God, and the spiritual soul of Man … and if no one can kill God, then no one can kill the soul of Man. The spiritual energy of Man lives forever, just like God -- and it also means there isn’t any spiritual death. Physical death, yes; spiritual death, no! That was the real message of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection. Somewhere along the line, the hearts and minds of the Jews turned away from God, and they forgot the wisdom of Moses who knew the true nature of Man was spiritual.

    Thus, a good seven hundred years later, God would send Jesus to Earth in order to re-instill this knowledge into the minds of the Jews. They had forgotten, or never acknowledged, the message contained in Genesis 1:27 proclaiming --- Man was created by an invisible God who is responsible for siring every man and woman who has ever lived. As such, Jesus would also teach Man how to pray to the invisible ‘Lord’ in heaven, so once again, their prayers could be heard. He affirmed Man could talk to God, and God would hear those prayers, unlike a dumb idol which had no ears or the ability to respond. The Jews had lost knowledge of Man’s unique relationship to God because they don’t know the universe is governed by an invisible, spiritual God, and not by an idol made of silver or gold.

    In the next verse of Isaiah (1:4), Israel is called a sinful nation which had forsaken or abandoned Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel. This is the first mention of Israel and the Jews being guilty of sin, even though it is mentioned many times throughout the Book of Isaiah. The verse translates slightly different in the Septuagint (LXX2012): Ah sinful nation, a people full of sins, an evil seed, lawless children: you have forsaken the Lord, and provoked the Holy One of Israel. The detective shows these various versions of the same verse in order to point out … Isaiah is specifically talking about the Jews and praying for the Jews. He is not praying for anyone but the Jews, which means he is not praying for any non-Jew or gentile; similarly, the prophet Daniel only prayed for the Jews. In any event, this issue dovetails into First Corinthians 15, verse three which has been garbled by Christians ever since their separation from the Jews and the detective wants to set its true meaning straight. The verse reads as follows:

    For I delivered unto you first of all that which also I received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; (1 Corinthians 15:3, ASV)

    Paul, a Jewish lawyer, trained in the Mosaic Law, is absolutely correct in the way he wrote this verse. When Paul, a Jew, wrote the epistle to the Jewish assembly in Corinth, he was sending it to Messianic Jews, so his use of the phrase our sins (i.e. Jewish sins) was correct because he is referring to the sins enumerated in Isaiah and Daniel. Paul even qualifies his written statement about our sins with the words according to the scriptures. Only the Jews were guilty of the sins for which Christ died. He didn’t die for original sin, or for any of the other sins, committed by Man.

    Christ died only for the sins of the Jews which were discussed above and will be discussed again below. However, Christians have grossly misinterpreted this verse. As a result, they believe Christ died for everyone’s sins, no matter who they are. In any event, that is a false interpretation, and has been false for a very long time. Non-Jews or Gentiles didn’t violate a covenant or a contract with God, and Gentiles of the world should not feel neglected, because Isaiah said Jesus would be a great light in their lives, which has proved to be true.

    Returning to the issue of Israel being a sinful nation, which had also abandoned the Lord, a review of some Old Testament scripture is necessary. After the Jews were freed from their captivity in Egypt, a covenant was established between the Lord and the Jews. The covenant wasn’t between Moses and God: the covenant was between the Lord and the Jewish elders who represented the twelve tribes and the scripture states -- they all agreed to the covenant (Exodus 19:1- 9). Therefore it was a covenant between the nation of Israel and the Lord which was approved by unanimous vote. The language of the covenant essentially represents the original wording contained in the Ten Commandments. The first part of the covenant with the Jews is shown in Exhibit 1B.

    To aggravate matters, they also resorted to making graven images, which violated the ordinances. These acts were a direct affront to God, and are some of the specific sins which the Jews committed causing Isaiah and Daniel to pray for them, and their nation. In addition to these sins, there were subtler sins hinted at in Isaiah 1:11-16. The Lord was fed up with the corrupt practices at the Temple. His angry message was made loud and clear in the verses of Isaiah (reproduced in the Exhibit 1A), and this same message has a direct connection to Jesus, because he made a whip, and drove the moneychangers out of the temple just before his crucifixion. The sacrifices had been corrupted and diminished in the eyes of God, not only because of the fleecing, money-exchanging rackets managed by the priests in the court of the Temple, but also by the multiple sales of the same unblemished sacrifice without the first purchaser’s knowledge.

    Nonetheless, the Jewish religion had become very offensive to the Lord 700 years before the birth of Jesus because the priests had turned Judaism into a monopolistic business enterprise, a mafia-style racket, where they extracted enormous amounts of vigorish in the sale of Temple shekels in order to purchase the mandated and prescribed sacrifices; these visible sins violated the commandments and the covenant with God, thus confirming Israel was a sinful nation. Yet, these visible and very obvious violations of the commandments were only symptomatic of the much larger and more significant spiritual sins which afflicted the Jewish people. It is this second category of sin which really angered God and explains why Jesus was crucified, and then resurrected four
