    Who Am I?

    I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was 19. Since then, I have never looked back. My faith has been the crux of my existence and my essence.

    This story is what I have wanted to tell to the world. My story. My memoir. My elegy. My song. My dirge. And my chronicles crafted in the scrolls of my heart.

    My name is Nichole McDaniel, a single mom who life has shown its many faces upon. I was a victim of many things. The scars linger on my body, my heart, soul and spirit.

    I start by quoting a part of Nina Simone’s Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood:

    But I’m just a soul whose intentions are good

    Oh Lord, please don’t let me be misunderstood

    I was the sweet little girl who grew up in the watchful eyes and warm arms of her grandmother. I grew up in the church and I accepted Jesus Christ into my life when I was 19. Years have rolled by and here I am, still steadfast in my faith. Someway, my Christian faith has been what has kept me going in every sphere of my life, despite what life has thrown at me.
