    Flashcard Games - Beate Baylie

    Saying Hello

You need: Flashcards on one topic, e.g. animals

    Preparation: None needed

    Number of players: 4+ people

    Age: 3+

    Game rules

This game is particularly suitable for courses with younger children and is a great way to start using flashcards. Younger children really have a lot of fun greeting animals, friends and even objects. They can do that in this game, too! Have the children spread the flashcards around the classroom on the floor and in the corners. First of all, you should greet the illustrations. Then encourage the children to copy you. Make sure that each child gets a go!

    Tip!

Once the children have mastered the correct greeting, incorporate deliberate mistakes. E.g. Hello, kangaroo! How are you? When you are greeting the monkey. Of course, your little students will happily correct you. Nooo! That is the monkey!

    Game rules

This is variation on the classic game of memory and is a game that all children enjoy playing. It’s also a great game for concentration!

This time all the flashcards are turned face down and then spread out on the table or the floor. The youngest child can start. You ask, Where is the donkey? The child has to turn over the correct card. If the child finds the card, they can continue playing. You ask the next question, e.g. Where is the elephant? However, as soon as the child turns over the wrong card, all the flashcards are turned face down again and it is the next child’s turn. Ask the questions in the same order as before. "Where is the donkey? Where
