About this ebook

Book 2 of The Accounts series.

The story in this book is one that many will find familiar. For it concerns tales which have to do with our origin, our destiny and our purpose in life.

Its precursor, The Martian Accounts, set the scene by offering a possible interpretation of the first chapters of Genesis, as well as the archaeological mysteries of our world. Its narrator was an imaginary figure from the future, whose discoveries on Mars revealed shocking truths which concern us all today.

The Earthen Accounts continues on from there by interpreting further the early chapters of Genesis, and offering an explanation for some of our ancestors' myths. Its narrator, this time, is from the distant past, and is a descendant of a man who survived a catastrophe which was so devastating that its memory has been preserved by cultures everywhere around the world.

Like its precursor, this book too has clues throughout its pages; clues which help answer questions for those in search of the truth, and which can be found by anyone - provided they look hard enough…

Author

S. Sol

For several years, I have been doing my own private research on the early chapters of Genesis from the Bible, with an attempt to address certain questions that others have been trying to answer, such as the location of the Garden of Eden, the so-called Nephilim, etc. I originally started writing my work as an academic book, but then changed the style into a type of fiction, namely because people are more prone to read fiction rather than academic non-fiction. I have therefore presented my views in a style that (for want of a better word) I would call 'Pseudo-Sci Fi’, and have inserted clues everywhere regarding my findings. In fact, the purpose of my writings is to encourage people to do their own research, to think out of the box, and to learn how to challenge established ideas. My first novella (The Martian Accounts) looks at the possibility of artificial structures on Mars (such as the Pyramids and the Face) and attempts to explain them through Genesis, while my second novella (The Earthen Accounts) examines Genesis more closely while at the same time linking it with early mythologies as well as anomalous archaeological finds on Earth. Both books are part of a series, called 'The Accounts', and there are three more waiting to be written (they are still in my head!). I hope you enjoy reading them, and feel free to ask me any questions. My email is sol.writings@gmail.com, but I have to warn you: I am a bit ‘old-school’, and therefore not always hooked up to the internet, so I may take a few days to get back to you... - S. SOL

The Earthen Accounts - S. Sol

'The Woodworker looked up at the night sky.

It gave him comfort to be able to look at the Stars,

and a sense of security knowing that

they were looking back at him.'

    FORETHOUGHT

I am not the Woodworker. I am simply called the Divider - the name I was given because the Great Division took place in my days.

This is the story of the world before the Immersion; of the people who occupied it, and whose hubris was in the end the cause of that catastrophe which engulfed all life in its waters.

This is the story of the survivors; of the changes they faced as they tried to adapt to a world that was so different from what they had known.

This is also the story of their descendants; and of how we are struggling to survive the challenges that now lie ahead.

I am not the true narrator. The Woodworker is. He lived through everything: the Immersion, the world before it, and now the world after it. He is really the narrator. It is his story that I am now transcribing.

But first, I will commence where all stories commence: the Beginning.

    THE BEGINNING

Before anything, there was only the Light. The Light was by himself, but he was not alone.

Then the Light created time, as a medium through which all things could grow and develop. With this established, he proceeded to fashion the ethereal world first and then the physical, placing the latter - known as Earth - at the centre of the former. At first the physical world could not be seen for there was no physical light to illumine it. But nothing was finished as all was still in its infancy. At the centre of the physical world there was only a thick darkness which covered the Place without Depth. As for the ethereal world, it was permeated throughout with water, so much so that wherever the Light went he passed over it. Then the Light illumined everything by bringing forth a physical copy of himself, and thus light came into existence.

The chaos that existed through the presence of water everywhere now showed. So, he divided the ethereal world into three levels, with each one having its own water, as well as its own specific characteristics and environment. The highest level, the third one, was to be the special dwelling place of the Light himself. There he created most beautiful things - things whose copies were to appear later in our own world.

As for the waters that lay in the lowest level, the one closest to our world, they needed to be gathered into one place - for the Light had great plans. To this end he created gravity, thus pulling them downwards onto the Earth. As they naturally collected in the lower parts, a great single continent appeared for the first time, encircled by a vast Ocean. From this new land the Light was able to bring forth life in the form of vegetation and trees of all kind.

But the created light and the existing darkness had nothing to set them limits. And so, the Light made the Sun and Moon, as well as the Wanderers, out of physical matter. Placing them in the second level of the ethereal world, he ordered them to travel in circles, at set speeds and at set revolutions, each obeying the medium of time as it seemed fit. All were to glide around our world, making the Earth their ultimate centre.

The Light then took it upon himself to fashion an exceedingly cherished creation indeed. They were to be made out of ethereal matter and like him they would be filled with light and endowed with great intelligence. Their task was most important. For they were to oversee all that had been created. To this end, they were given the ability to fly and were placed in the second level of the ethereal world, but much higher than the Sun and Moon, or even the Wanderers.

When he created them, their joy at their own existence was so intense that the first thing they did was to sing. They sang gloriously, all together and all in harmony. And they have never stopped singing since that day. They genuinely loved the Light for all that he had done, and their loyalty to him was undying. To us they appear as pinpricks of light for they are ethereal beings, and we can only behold their ethereal characteristics of light and beauty - nothing more. Therefore, we can see them solely when it is dark. They, however, can see us both night and day. They are the Stars.

After this, the Light concentrated on the physical world, and using material from it he brought forth life of various kinds. The first came from the water and then the rest from the land, each with its own abode. Some were to occupy the water, some the land, and some the first level of the ethereal world. These are the animals.

Finally, when all was done, the time came for the Light to create the most unique beings of all time; beings that would be a likeness of himself, but made up of both physical and ethereal matter; beings that would belong to both worlds, thus bridging and uniting them in a bond of peace and happiness and love for all eternity. These are the Parents.

And to that end, he proceeded first to plant the Garden...

    THE GARDEN

It was a most delightful sight. The Woodworker remembers well the accounts told of it. No one can forget such things, as they are tales which concern not only the Garden but the Earth in general.

When the waters in the first level of the ethereal world were subjected to gravity, they caused a single continent to appear which was circular in shape. Most significant was the fact that this land mass had been designed by the Light to have eight curvatures that made it look like a rose from above. This, I am told, was no coincidence, as the number 'eight' apparently pointed to a future time - an eighth age - when all things will be perfect once again.

In the middle of this great continent stood three large hills - in fact, Mountains - that lay in a line from east to west, with one of them slightly offset. This too was not by chance. For all three were made to be mirror images of the Three Sacred Stars, which guard the entrance to the third level of the ethereal world, and which are part of the larger group of Seven Stars better known today as 'The Great Hunter'.

Each Mountain had its own special characteristics. The eastern one had many flint stones and much greenery, the middle one had a hard stone foundation suitable for building on, and the western one was composed of a stone that was good for carving out of. Peculiarly, there was a small entrance in the ground between the central and eastern Mountains, which some say led deep underground, perhaps even to the very bowels of the Earth itself. No one today ventures into it, as those who tried in the past were said to have returned with reports of human screams and wailing. Today, these three Mountains are barely discernible and resemble large hills due to the build-up of silt around their bases caused by the Immersion.

Of the three Mountains, it was the eastern one that the Light chose to plant his Garden on. Being the largest by far, its peak was so high that it commanded a view of almost the entire continent. The Garden itself extended over the whole surface of the Mountain, and it contained every type of fruit and vegetable one could imagine.

But it was the two Trees at the top that were this site's most prized possession. Like everything else, they had been planted there on purpose by the Light. Unlike the other vegetation, however, these two Trees were the crowning glory of all the plant matter he had created. The variety that they were, though, would not have appeared very special to us today, as they looked like nothing more than an olive tree and a fig tree. But to the Light they were the key to the survival and the final development of his most prized creation: the Parents, and eventually their descendants as well.

The first Tree, the Olive, gave Life. In fact, it bestowed - or rather preserved - immortality. This latter gift had been given to all the Light's creation. Back then, nothing was meant to die. Death had never been seen in those days, nor had it even been conceived of. All was meant to last forever. The only thing that was needed was for the Parents to partake of its fruit, and everything was renewed. This was due to the extraordinary connection that existed between the Parents and the whole of the created world.

There are some who ask why an olive was chosen to be the form for the source of immortality. We are not sure, but perhaps it
