About this ebook

Hot summer nights and motorbikes are in Liv's past, or so she thought...

Liv is career-focused and knows she should settle down with one of those corporate types. But she can't resist a bad boy on a motorbike with tattoos.

Hunter is the best of both worlds. The only problem is he's Liv's new boss.

After an embarrassing work meeting with Hunter, Liv escapes to her family's farm in the Snowy Mountains for the long weekend to let her hair down at the annual bush dance.

But when Hunter shows up in the Snowy Mountains unexpectedly, Liv is forced to drop the good girl act and let her guard down...just a little.

Fall in love with Liv and Hunter in this short and sassy story by Rachel Rinetti, author of The Birthday Romance Series.

Rachel Rinetti

Rachel Rinetti is a communication professional by day and an author, dreamer and law student by night. She’s a mumma to a badass Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a solo traveller and self-love advocate. Rachel wrote her first novel at 22. It was an angsty, young adult romance set in the country that she’s hidden in a drawer to never see the light of day. After finishing that first book, she caught the writing bug. Rachel lives in Canberra (Australia) with her pooch, Bailey J and a large collection of romance novels and law textbooks. When she’s not writing or studying, she likes making soy candles, meditating and going on adventures on the roads less travelled! The Birthday Romance Series is her first series.

    CHAPTER ONE

THE SOUND OF the car horn rung in her ears, almost deafening her with the high-pitched tone.

‘You can’t cut people off like that!’ Liv yelled as she punched her hand into the horn again.

    Okay. Maybe a slight overreaction.

She took her hand off the horn when stares from the other drivers made her realise she was out of line.

The man on the motorbike continued weaving through the row of cars lined up the at the traffic lights, trying to get through before they turned red again.

The traffic rolled to a stop once more. The man on the motorbike didn’t get through. It was more than satisfying. It was karma for cutting her off.

The day had gotten off to a terrible start. Liv slept through her alarm, missed her yoga class, forgot to prep breakfast last night, and now, she was late for work when she needed to be on time for a company meeting. The only thing getting her through the morning was the allure of free coffee.

This morning, the cafe in the building where she worked was offering free coffee between eight and nine a.m. She just needed to park and get into the building in time. But with the way this traffic was moving, she was going to miss out.

Her fingers tapped the steering wheel repetitively as she waited for the lights to turn green. It bothered her that she couldn’t take her eyes off the man on the motorbike who’d just cut her off.

Why were men on motorbikes sexy without even trying? Liv had spent the last nine years trying to forget her past. The parties. The men. The hot summer nights. The motorbikes.

Memories from the wild days of her past life hit her hard, and a tingle ran down the base of her neck. She slapped her hand there to try and stop the sensation.

    Calm down.

She’d seen him in the rear-view mirror before he’d cut her off. The beard wasn’t large, but long enough to conceal his identity, and make her wonder what was hiding underneath. She’d never been into the clean-shaven corporate types.

Liv shifted in the driver seat and craned her neck around the car in front to get a better view. She closed her eyes and wished she
