I am originally from New York . After retiring in 1998 I took my dream girl and relocated to a town just outside of Nashville TN. After 20 years of retirement life was getting dull. Taking the advice of an English teacher I had in 1961, I thought I would try my hand at writing. If nothing else, it keeps me thinking. One of my daughters is an art teacher and a very good one. She offers advice and encouragement along with my wife Carolyn. Now that I've managed to get thruogh one book , I'm thinking of adding and making a series. Time to return to my outline book..

CHAPTER 1 Prologue
We pick up the story after fifty years have passed and a summation of the Terran solar system's progress follows. Earth spent the first ten years after the Volaran treaty changing the minds of it's inhabitants. There were street riots, anarchists. religious nuts, just to name a few, that argued against changing their way of life. The ultra rich were behind many of the problems. If everyone could have what his neighbor had, there was no need for currency. there were holdouts that didn't want a world government. The masses finally prevailed, mostly through the educational system. the numbers of killings, robberies, and other crimes stopped after the first three years. there were no longer rich, poor, starving, or uneducated. These were being eliminated by leaps and bounds.
After the world had settled down and the Volarans did as promised with technology, Two new cities on each continent were built with all the conveniences of a Volaran city and people were welcomed in and given jobs that needed to be done. Once you got used to the fact there was no currency involved. you could decorate the home that fit your needs. Housing was determined by the number of people in each house hold. There were no more neighborhoods. Computers made sure of that by making a mix of all nationalities in the housing areas. The cities were surrounded by man made lakes, pools, and streams. At the twenty year time frame the cities were well established and work groups went out with Volaran and dismantled the old cities and towns, tore up concrete and blacktop roads. New forests were planted with a variety of trees that were hard to burn and grew at an astonishing rate. At the same time, world population started to trend downward. Each city on each continent sent a representative to the world council. Any and all problems were listened to and usually answered and taken care of in days, instead of years. There was an Earth security force. it had no weapons that would kill, but they could disable someone for a few minutes while they took them into custody. Overall, their job was made easy by the fact it was a time of peace. Many of the people that went to Volar for studies in higher education, returned, so as to put their new skills to work for Earth. It was a boom time for Earth. It was difficult to keep up with the changes being made by the techs and scientists. Finally, humanity was happy. All knew they had the better of the agreement made between Earth and Volar. It was at this point that the world council voted that henceforth they were to be known as the Federation called them, Terrans and Earth as Terra. The moon, Mars, and Venus were part of the equation.
The moon was found to have Vast quantities of ores. Water was found deep down underground. Work started immediately, and soon there were two underground cities which would house the men and women who came to make the Moon a viable place to live. Volarans put a security shield around the Moon so no meteors or asteroids would damage what was being built. It took a few years, but the work paid off. Two domed cities were built above ground and there was a large influx of scientists and technicians who wanted to do research in the lower gravity. It was found that it was easier, and cost effective in time, to build many of the ships used by the Federation there. This led to the building of the space stations that encircled the moon. Research and development was done on them. Forty five years after they started them, there were two rings completed and a third was in the offing. The moon was a beehive of activity.
Mars was not standing idly by watching progress being carried out. Using the shields supplied by the Volarans, Two large cities were built and a mammoth space port was built at each. Mars was to be the center of commerce. They built a large space station to handle the number of ships that entered the solar system. Every ship was checked with an identity number. If there was the slightest chance someone was trying to sneak something by them, they would come aboard and inspect your cargo. If clear, you could land at a preset o landing spot. If not, you were told to be on your way and you only got this warning once. Mars had large ships towing asteroids made of ice to their planet and had them dropped in large depressions. soon there were lakes dotting the landscape. With outside help, the planet was getting it's atmosphere back and the center of the planet was reignited to warm the planet. Two cities were already planned at the edge of one of the larger lakes. Soon, there would be another influx of inhabitants to enjoy life on the sister planet. Here again, water was found below the surface which would keep the lakes and waterways supplied with running water. Smaller cities were planned around the larger lakes. Venus was a challenge unto itself.
There was no breathable atmosphere on Venus and you could cook most foods just from the heat. The planet did however, grow exotic plants that were used by medical labs for making all kinds of remedies for most ailments. They also found an abundance of natural ores that basically was sitting on the ground. No major mining was needed. With the help of the Federation a few small cities were built underground and giant machines transformed the heavy fog and humidity into breathable air. A mile under the surface the temperature dropped to about a hundred and fifty degrees. Large air conditioners were built under the domes that covered the cities and dropped the Temperature down to a livable eighty degrees. Chemists and techs turned the plants they harvested into the various drugs, then lifted them to the surface for waiting space ships to move the products to the different worlds in the Federation. In return, the ships brought back needed supplies for cities. The raw ores were similarly transported to various manufacturing depots for refining. With advancements in light drive, Earth to Volar took two weeks. Just as many Volarans wanted to see the Terran's solar system as Terrans wanting to see the Volaran system. It was decided, with moon's lower gravity, it was best spot to build the new fleet ships, cargo transports, and private ships needed by industry Volar is changing back into a vibrant world. Arts and sciences are at a mad rush to keep up with the advancements and new concepts that the mixing of the races has brought to light. There is a growing appetite to leave their homes and refuges to enjoy all that is happening.
CHAPTER 2 Story Continues
As foretold, Admiral Jeremy, moves the Fourth outside the edge of the galaxy and spends a month in preparation for a war that may or may not happen for a hundred years or more. But he is going to have his brigade as ready as he can for that eventuality. Watching the ships and fighters, it is like a ballet as they move to different formations. Other Admirals take note and before long, they too have their brigades out there in rotation to try to equal what Jeremy has accomplished. There is no jealousy, only pride, in what he has accomplished and what other advancements he may make for the Federation. Jeremy has the brigade stand alert. He then pipes to all the ships; All of you have met my expectations at ninety two percent. There is still more to accomplish, but for now, we will take a respite and go home and enjoy a little down time. All of you deserve to be thanked for your achievements this past month and know I'm grateful to have each and every one of you with me. We will be stopping at the nearby space station before returning home. shore leave for all in twelve hour shifts. Thank you and stand down.
As expected, there was a lot of noise and backslapping upon hearing the news. After things settled down, the officers set about getting the crews to make the ships presentable should an Admiral or Council member decide to come aboard. A call came to Bell
that the Admiral was needed on the Medical Globe ship. Jeremy stopped what he was doing and transported over to the Medical ship and shimmered into view in front of the Captains chair. What is the problem and how many are involved?
Jeremy asked. The Captain, after gathering his wits after being scared by Jeremy's sudden arrival, Thought it best to give an account in the Captain's quarters. Jeremy decided it would be better to have a chat in the mess over a cup of coffee or whatever the Captain drank. After getting a drink, they sat and the Captain gave him the lowdown on what the problem was. Three of the fighter pilots had reservations about the lieutenant who was their wing Commander. So they decided they would get rid of him through character assassination. The officer who was very young, and on his first tour, just didn't know how to handle the situation. He ended up down in the psych ward and it was their Commander that gave him the information on the young man's condition. Jeremy thought a minute and then decided what would be most effective in handling this situation. He had the Captain call a meeting in the fighter hanger with all service people and pilots to be in attendance. The Captain reported it would be done in an hour.
CHAPTER 3 Discipline
After finishing his coffee, he put the three names and the wing leaders name in his personal log and with the Captain along, went to the fighter hanger. After everyone was present He and the Captain strode in to the hanger. Everyone stood and saluted. Jeremy returned the salute and told them to have a seat. "A problem down here has been brought to my attention. This situation, in my command, will not be allowed. If I call your name, come forward and stand at ease. He opened his log and called a name out and a pilot came forward and stood in front of the Admiral. The second and third did the same. At last he called the flight leader to
