Herr Shickelgruber's timetable fortunately ran out of time—the hourglass sands drained to a trickle and then stopped falling, and that was the factor that defeated him—Time, not Allied bombing or Allied strategy or America's numberless war-factories. In all key technology he held the winning edge right to the moment of his utter defeat.
