In "Family Portrait", Francis frantically attempts to finish creating his gift for his parents, who arrived at his apartment early.
In "Green Eyes", Nathan enacts a carefully planned out con in an attempt to make a large amount of money. Everything is going perfectly, until a mysterious pair of green eyes appear in the window of his next door neighbor's house.
"A Brodacious Pilgrimage" follows David, a middle aged man who just lost his job. Feeling like there nothing left for him, he orders a ride across the country to Florida. David and his driver, an odd man named Hank, go on a cross country road trip where they attempt to leave the past behind and find more fulfilling lives.
Miles Hall
Miles Hall is a comic book writer who primarily writes suspense stories starring deeply flawed characters in awkward situations. He is currently earning a BFA in Creative Writing from Full Sail University. His flash fiction has been published in Adelaide Literary Magazine. As an Eagle Scout, Miles enjoys spending his free time camping and adventuring with friends in the outdoors.

Martha stared at the street in front of her, obscured by a thick layer of fog. She held the steering wheel firmly in her shaking hands, trying to get a tight grip on the slippery surface, lubricated from the sweat running down her palms.
She looked ahead and saw the faint outline of a street sign. She turned onto the street and pulled into an empty parking lot. Once parked, she closed her eyes and laid a hand across her stomach.
BAM. Martha jumped at the noise, hitting her head on the roof of her car. A heavyset man dressed in all black and wearing a ski mask stood outside the driver’s side window. She rolled down the window.
You were supposed to be here two minutes ago,
the man said. I was beginning to think you chickened out.
