I rub my eyes, as

if this will actually change what I see. But that literally only works in books or movies. The Wen Devante liked my latest photo on Instagram. I only posted it because of them. It was their influence that helped me get this far. I just never thought… it can’t be possible.

I close my app and open it again. There has to be a mistake.

There’s no mistake. The like is still there. Sometime in the middle of the night, Wen Devante definitely liked my post. They’re an Insta celebrity, and somehow they found my account. I have exactly seventy-three followers. They have 2.3 million.

I’ve been following them for several months, since well before the pandemic hit. I’ve read their book and really love the way they present on Instagram. I’m actually obsessed with them.
