Jerry Odom is an author of Christian books. He is the author of The Christian Walk: Making The Promised Land (The Trilogy 1, 2, and 3) a novel that explores the model nation, Israel that God groomed as an example to reveal how He is and relates with His children, Christians. These books reveal foundational truths about how we can walk with God successfully. Jerry believes these books will make a great contribution to the body of Christ and remove the scale in our eyes. This will help us to gain clarity in God and the workings of His Spirit. This is my first book and it has taken me over 10 years to write it. It came by default. I received the inspiration to write after attending a 30-day fast organized by Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo of KICC, London. I was also doing my MBA then so I did not give it much attention. All that I did was to sketch the idea that the Holy Spirit deposited in me. Over time the inspiration died away like what Jesus said in most of the Parable of the Sower. Nevertheless, in the last 4 years, I have been impressed by the fear of God's judgment, as in the Parable of the Talent. I can't help telling my Lord that I buried the talent that was given to me. Therefore, I took the time to write as I was inspired. The Christian Walk - Making the Promised Land is three-fold. Now on pre-order is the Trilogy – 1 to be released on 31st August 2020. I am also working on the Trilogy - 2 and the Trilogy - 3. They will also be released not more than three months intervals each.Afterward, I will be working on other book titles including:MemorialsThe God of the Fathers.I wish that my fans will come to know and believe in Christ Jesus and the power of His resurrection. I want them to mature in Christ and live holy lives and serve Him with their lives. Jerry is married with two children: Elohim and Mercedes.Aside writing, Jerry is a long time public servant in the Local Government Service, Ghana. He holds the position of a Budget Analyst and has contributed to designing policies and programs to change livelihood. He also served as a university lecturer at the Garden City University College and, Regent University College of Science and Technology to help shape the thinking of future leaders. Jerry is a graduate of the University of Leicester, U.K, where he earned an MBA degree in Finance.I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoy writing them. CHAPTER 1

    INTRODUCTION

In 2005, through 30-days fasting and prayers, a vision was birthed in me to build a petroleum filling station in my country. I was in a foreign land studying and working at the same time. I did not keep this vision to myself. I was excited to discuss it with family and friends. There were mix-responses as to whether I could do it or not, given the magnitude of investment required.

Eventually, there was a diversion based on a piece of advice I received from a family member on the prospects of a gas filling station in a particular part of the country. I gave in to this advice and gave out money for the purchase of land for the project in 2007. I was back in my country and employed in 2008. However, there was another change of focus to preferably set up a stopover restaurant, given the strategic location of the land. There were architectural drawings, and work started in 2009. The building got started to the lintel level.

However, I lost my job and became financially drained, so I could not continue with the project. I had to sell the property in 2015 when I needed to complete a residential accommodation, given the amount of money that I was putting into rent and the fact that I was also sinking money to maintain this project, which had become a ghost. So this vision never came to life.

In late 2011, after marriage, I decided to put up a residential accommodation for my family since we could not pay rent forever. I had the land already, so all that I needed to do was to start with the foundation and get the work done. So we prayed to God for the grace to get it done. Everything started very well, and we raised the building to the roofing level within a year.

Once again, I began to experience economic hardship. Even though I was working, the grace had waned. The project was left hanging until 2015 when another grace located me through prayer. There was financial provision from other sources, including the funds that I realized from selling the first project, which enable me to roof and continue with this residential accommodation.

By now, you know that the original dream never materialized. It went through various phases but could never come to light, whether by human errors, spiritual attacks, or some other reasons. Nevertheless, I was able to raise some money from it to continue with the residential accommodation and also engage in other profitable ventures, which have made me financially safe now.

Everyone has a vision for accomplishments. Little as it may seem, it remains a vision. You put in energy with the hope of achieving that vision someday. It is not everyone who can achieve their dreams, though. Some take theirs to the grave. Its either they could not start at all for so many reasons, or they started, but something hindered them, one way or the other or the time needed to complete it was too long that it never materialized. Gladly, others can accomplish their visions by the grace of God.

God also had a vision, so He created man in His image and likeness to have dominion over the earth and to be lord over all creations. He declared, ‘let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth’ (Genesis 1:26). God positioned man as His companion with the authority and power to rule and continue with creation here on earth. However, this plan came to an untimely ending. The man fell as a result of disobedience by giving in to Lucifer in the Garden of Eden.

Nevertheless, the gracious and righteous God did not forsake humanity entirely. God had the vision to bring man to himself whatever it would take, even His only begotten son Jesus Christ. He initiated covenants to build new relationships with man; to reinstate man to his original glory. As time went by, God established a model nation, Israel, as a blueprint of the vision of salvation yet to be manifested.

This book recounts the history of the Jews, their exodus from Egypt to the Promised Land. It unveils their unexpected struggles and their heavenly encounters. This journey exposed their human weaknesses and God’s interventions. We also see God’s love and judgment on humanity. It represents a phase in God’s plan to return humanity unto Himself.

It is my prayer that you comprehend and reflect through on the issues of life that confronted them in their walk with God since they are mostly a mirror to your walk with God. This walk is a roller coaster one that reveals the woes and fulfillment in God. So be ready to carry your cross, to fall and rise again.

The exodus of the Israelites provides a model for us to understand how the walk with God is. A proper appreciation of the phases of life that they experienced will go a long way to equip us to succeed in our walk with God. That is the objective of this book. To highlight biblical issues, both good and bad, victories and defeats, and divine relationships necessary to succeed in this walk with God. It is my prayer that you meditate through as you read to gain revelations to equip you for a victorious walk with God. Amen!

    CHAPTER 2

    THE COMMONWEALTH OF ISRAEL

In this chapter, let's begin by looking at our position in God as spiritual citizens of Israel. The commonwealth of Israel is the family of God from all walks of life and creed joined together by a universal spirit, the Holy Spirit, in Jesus Christ, with a common faith and a common destiny in God. It is the family bought by the blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ, on the cross of Calvary. It was the bride price paid to redeem sinful souls into
