But war is only a partial portrait of what is actually happening. Others go about hidden behind the uniforms of the many nationalities committing their own personal agendas. One agenda being murder. War is the ultimate mass killer. But there are others who plan to kill for personal reasons. 

 

And there are others who see the war as the perfect venue for furthering their own careers.

 

For Jake Reynolds, master art forgerer, the war is handing him the perfect opportunity. Their are masterpieces out there waiting to be acquired.  All he has to do is create an exact copy of the original and replace the copy for the original. As an officer in the Royal Flying Corps, fighting in the skies over France, he has access to almost every private collection, museum, and public holdings in the entire country. But there is a problem. Jake is also unlucky. Unlucky in that the Fates gives him an unwanted task to solve. In Jake's case, the unwanted task is stumbling onto the fresh body of a murdered soul. For Jake, murder is the one crime he cannot abide with. Something within him compels him to seek out the killer or killers and bring them to justice.

 

But how do you fight a war, steal a Renaissance masterpiece, and solve a diabolical murder without alerting the authorities of his own felonious deeds?
