What do you mean no?

Gwen Franco looked at her best friend Sally Deckland and rolled her eyes. Just what I said. No. As in nope, not happening and not on your life.

Sally propped her hands on her hips. Look, I can’t go, you may as well do it and take the money they’re paying. It’s extra and we both know every little bit can help. If I wasn’t so damn sick I’d be doing it but I can’t very well be in there mingling if I’m sounding like a damn freighter blowing it’s horn as it moves through the harbor.

I’m not you, Sally. I like to hang in the background. She chewed on her lower lip. Then again, the money does sound good.

"It’s a hell of a payout for a few hours of dealing with the rich and snobby. I told them I could go, they gave me a pass and an outfit to wear. You’re smaller than I am so we will have to take it up with a few tucks here and there. Then you’ll be in no problem.
