E. Connally - I am an engineer, IT Manager and Entrepreneur. I have been writing for fifteen years and I am also a professional photographer. I have lived in Jamaica, Texas and all over the United States, but now live in Tennessee. I have traveled extensively in Africa, Asia, India and the Caribbean. There's something sensual and romantic about visiting another country and trying to understand its people and culture, so I try and weave my travels into all my stories.I love creating things, whether it be a beautiful sensual photo, building a chemical process or a rich steamy story. Creating things is a very personal, romantic and sensual act. I have been a photographer for over 30 years and a writer for 15. I published my first photography book over 25 years ago and my first written book 14 years ago.Being a hopeless romantic I began writing romance stories in 2005. Somehow hot and steamy passion seemed to enter into every story. So began my new career as an romance author that also believes wistful, daring, uninhibited desire is part of beautiful intimate love. All of us want to find that love. The one that conquers us, makes us weak in the knees and has a sense of belonging that completes us. It takes real strength and courage to surrender complete control to your lover, but without yielding to your lover you will never find what you seek. Submission in a relationship is strength covered in dignity. While love is a delicate balance between preserving who you are and at the same time giving all you have to your lover. To truly love you must be able to sacrifice. You must be able to give of yourself completely and totally without any regard to the consequences. Likewise, you must be able to take what you want from your lover, what you need, as well as what you desire. It's this intimate dance of give-and-take that makes love so powerful and earth shattering. As mere mortals, all we crave for someone to love us with as much passion and commitment as we love them. As simple as that sounds is incredibly hard to achieve, but when it happens look out because your world will never be the same.

I wanted to thank all my fans that gave me ideas for various scenes in this book. Your feedback is the food for my writer's soul and your ideas feed my writing compulsion. I wanted to single out ess, mishfoxyy17, Navaura, and tiemeup.makemecum for their ideas and feedback.

I also want to thank two very special people. First my editor, Ann, without her, my ideas would be here, but in an unreadable format. She structured and crafted my words into proper English language making everything readable. I did not do well in English Grammar class, so trust me you are very happy that I have such a wonderful editor. In addition, she gave me ideas for character development and directions for the story. This story is as much hers as mine.

The second special person is Brandi at ebook Cover Designs. She put together the cover design and it pulled a story into a book. I have worked with many other artists, but Brandi is incredible, easy to work with, resulting in covers beyond my wildest expectations. The Covers make the book, and they are better than I ever envisioned.

Thank you all for helping this come together into the ebook The Knight and the Assassin.

    Chapter 1

Sir Louis LaBlanc loved the celebration of spring equinox. After coming out of an especially brutal winter, the spring seemed more full of life and as such should be celebrated. He was in England at Hermitage Castle because at this moment in time France and England were not at war.

The castle is very strategic because it sits on the border of England and Scotland. As a result, it has changed hands multiple times. The current owner, Sir William Douglas, spent a large amount of time and money enhancing the fortifications and battlements. His plan is that the castle be impregnable within two years.

The castle itself was magnificent, romantic and sinister all at the same time and Sir Louis felt very privileged to be inside its walls. He enjoyed the beautiful countryside and the Scottish women were very fond of a French Chevalier.

He was a French representative of his king and as such was seated towards the head of the table. His English was passable, but fortunately the Knights around him also spoke passable French, so communication was good. The English royalty was a bit more reserved than what he was used to, but he took it in stride.

While he enjoyed the festivities, he enjoyed the French women much more than the English hospitality he had been provided. The meal had been delicious and over-the-top opulent, but the entertainment thus far had lacked anything inspired. The comedy had been typically English and was very dry, while the singers lacked any inspiration and the dancers just plain were not any good.

He was seriously searching the hall for some personal and feminine entertainment when he saw a new dancer moving to the forefront. She was draped mysteriously in a red hooded cape that covered her face and concealed her body. She presented such a shadowy figure that he thought he would stay and see what she was all about.

He stared at her and as her eyes turned to him, he felt a feeling tingle inside him. He felt as though he had seen and met her before, a feeling that was confirmed as she halted suddenly when their eyes met. He was trying awfully hard to remember who she was and where he had seen her when she suddenly turned away and unclasp her cape.

As the cape fell to the floor a most wondrously beautiful face was almost revealed, only it wasn’t because she had a veil. He strained to see who she really was, while her sultry green eyes pulled at his heart; she seemed to be reaching into his soul. Something inside him gasp with the passion he felt from that brief glance. It was only when she turned away that he saw her spectacular figure barely clothed in a warrior ensemble consisted of only leather strips. Her dance costume revealed much more than it concealed.

Her legs were covered in what he guessed was
