The sickness called porphoria caused hyperstichiosis consumed Alexeas’ flesh and made him turn away from his own reflection. He felt and sometimes acted like the monster, the mythological animal that was hated and feared by many men and women in Fluria. Alexeas could strip away the layers of fur-like body hair and coat his body with all sorts of ointment to give his skin and face a normal appearance. But there was always the animal lurking below, within clawing its way out. Soon Elasker would set out to stop the young women of her son’s life from freeing him completely. Looking in the mirror Elasker was shocked and frantically excited by her sudden appearance. Then without warning she shattered the mirror sending shards of glass across the floor.
