    Foreword

From sea to shining sea Canada is a nation to be envied.

And if you find that bold claim hard to swallow, well… consider that the overwhelming majority of international list makers agree as well. Whether considering Canada in its entirety or through a minute examination of the individual regions and cities that make up this great nation, all sources rank Canada near the top, if not at the very top, of the best places to live. So if your heart is truly set on leaving Canada, whatever your reason, it’s best to start your preparations today.

And the first step on your journey is to educate yourself.

And the best way to educate yourself is to ask questions.

What is the proper exit strategy for departing Canada?

What are the no’s and the knows that you should be aware of when preparing to depart and then officially cutting your ties?

What is the Expatriation or Departure Tax?

These are just a few of the questions you should be considering as you pack your bags and boxes. Because, truthfully, there is much more to emigrating then just selling your possessions lock, stock and barrel and purchasing a plane ticket.

    And that’s
