Your Child's Story

Note From the Author
Thank you for your interest in this special kind of book!
This was originally a film project, that was very controversial, that never made it to the big screens. So I didn't want to let a great read go to waste! So now I am taking the script and putting it in the hands of the public! This book is based on true events. It happens to children world-wide, and this is just one child's story, of the masses that have been affected in situations just like this! Most people only get sad when they hear of a celebrity who has died from an over does of prescription drugs or see their life going in a downward spiral, but never thinking of their own kids, or a neighbors kid who has been wrongly diagnosed. This is not a story to stop people from doing what is necessary for their kids, but just a precaution to make sure your child is properly diagnosed! Hope you all enjoy this intense read! This story is your child's life!

BLAKE (VO)-My name is Blake Brooks and this is my story.
The camera moves in on the moon as it starts to turn red. The moon slowly becomes enveloped in fire as it completely covers the screen. The burning moon starts to fade into an eyeball on fire. The camera pulls back, revealing the eye to be of BLAKE BROOKS, 33. The reflection of his eye flames as the camera reveals Blake placed in a literal pit of hell. Blake screams in fear as men dressed in orange scream in the background. Demonic shadows rush toward Blake, pulling him to a scorching wall. Blake struggles to get free. An image of a woman appears next to him.
BLAKE
(In desperation) Help me, Mother.
The image dissolves away. The floor below him crumbles into an even more hellish abyss as a snake breaks through the depths and slithers around Blake’s neck and body. He struggles to get free as shots flash with men in orange jumpsuits spitting and jeering. In desperation, Blake bites into the snake. The snake begins turning into smoke as its body fades into a man’s arm tightening around Blake's neck. The fire and ash fade away as a prison recreation room emerges around them from the fade.
INT. PRISON CELL BLOCK, RECREATION ROOM-DAY.
Inmates in orange jumpsuits circle around while yelling random phrases at a riot squad.
INMATE 1
Kick his ass!!!
INMATE 2
Leave him alone!!!
INMATE 3
He ain’t done nothin!!!
A jailer has his arm wrapped around Blake’s neck against the wall, as another jailer yells an unknown muted sentence. The Jailer yells again, this time busting through the silence with a blast of words that push Blake’s head backwards.
JAILER 2
Get the fuck down!!
Suddenly, five guards collapse on top of Blake, pushing him to the ground. Blake looks up at the ceiling as it begins to crack. It shatters, exposing the moon above them. All that is heard is the sound of playing children. From the darkness in the room a child dressed in a devil outfit walks out waving a fiery trident and laughing in glee.
DEVIL
Hurry up Batman or we’re going to miss all the candy!!!
FADE TO BLACK
BLACK SCREEN.
You hear the sound of children’s joyful screams.
FADE FROM BLACK:
EXT. HIGHLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL – NIGHT.
A banner hanging from a building reads:
HAPPY HALLOWEEN – HIGHLAND ELEMENTARY ANNUAL HALLOWEEN PARTY
Below the sign, the following text appears on the screen:
OCTOBER 1981
A mask being moved over the lens giving the perspective of a person’s POV putting on a mask. The mask can be viewed out of while kids run past the cameras POV (through the mask) towards the school. The mask moves back and forth over the lens as the person struggles to wear it properly.
Caleb (OS)
Hurry up Batman or we’re going to miss all the candy.
CALEB 10, really chubby, wears a devil suit as he waves a plastic pitchfork, running toward a stationary Blake Brooks, 10. Blake wears a Batman costume as he struggles to get a mask to large for his face on properly.
CALEB
Hurry up, let’s go inside!
Caleb points towards the doors as Blake still struggles with his mask.
BLAKE (VO older BLAKE)
It all started innocent enough. At the school Halloween party, my friend and I had a simple plan. Be the first in line, and grab as much candy as possible before Johnny Carson’s monologue started in our parent’s living room. If we’re late, a threat against our candy was promised.
BLAKE
My mask, it doesn’t fit.
CALEB
So, my pants cup
doesn’t fit and I’m still moving!
Blake still fights.
BLAKE
Yeah, you super glued it to your crotch. I’m not doing that to my face. I also can’t wait to see you take that off.
Blake stops dead in his thoughts when he sees BRITNEY, 12 in a sparkling pixie costume, run past him. She waves at Blake.
BRITNEY
Hi Blake.
He raises his hand to wave back, but is pushed out of the way. He turns and sees CHRIS 12, sneering at him from behind a painted werewolf face.
CHRIS
Out of my way dumbass!
Chris looks toward Britney and smiles.
BRITNEY
You’re such a jerk, Chris!
CHRIS
So, he’s a dork!
Britney and Chris walk inside as Blake watches Britney in awe.
Blake jumps as Caleb jabs him with his pitchfork.
CALEB
Hey Romeo, everybody in the world is getting ahead of us in line for the candy!
Caleb points his pitchfork at the kids running inside. Blake turns and stares in Britney’s departed direction in a daze.
CALEB
(Very patronizing) Your girlfriend’s in there.
Blake's trance breaks. He smiles as they both start running towards the doors, laughing.
INT. SCHOOL HALLWAY.
Music and sounds of laughter can be heard in the background. Inside the hallway, a banner in blood dripping letters reads with arrows.
HALLOWEEN PARTY * CLOSED AREA * DO NOT ENTER
Swarms of children, dressed in costumes, wait in line to enter through paper streamers that hang from the gymnasium doors. Blake and Caleb wait their turn in the back of the line. Blake's mask is on top of his head.
CALEB (groans)
Great, the back of the line! We won’t even make the cakewalk! We’re screwed! God, my life’s over! If we’re going to get any candy we need to push our way through!
Blake's eye catches something
