About this ebook

In Sons of God, a group of angels is assigned to watch over the budding human race. Over time, they begin to develop feelings that are forbidden by God. As the angels decide to follow these feelings and pursue intimate relationships with the humans, the results are quite unexpected and unnatural. In Cast Out of the Darkness, follow the continuing saga of the angel/human hybrids in modern times. A young track star finds herself in the middle of a battle that has spanned throughout the ages. What can the Nephilim possibly want with her? In Lost In Memory, Peter has outlived all of his friends and most of his family. Alone in the world, all he has left are his memories. However, his frequent trips down memory lane begin to have a fatal side effect.

    The Sons of God

"The sons of God saw that the daughters of men

were fair, and they took wives of all they

desired and chose…There were giants on

the earth in those days- and also

afterward- when the sons of God lived

with the daughters of men, and they bore

    children to them… (Genesis 6:2, 4)

    Section 1

It was early in the morning as I sat atop Mount Armon looking down upon the human race. The sun was just rising over the dusty landscape giving everything an orange tint. People were beginning to come out of their homes, which were little more than stone and mud packed together with tightly woven branches to cover them. But at least it protected them from the elements. The children ran around in their playful ways while the adults prepared for a busy day at the market. This was a simple race that I had been given charge over, and I loved them very much.

My name is Semyaja, and I am an angel. I have been designated as leader over the Watchers: a special group of angels whom God has appointed to walk among humans and help them in any way we can. That is, without revealing our true nature if at all possible. This is usually very easy as we can take on a variety of forms, including their own. Most of the time our tasks are simple, such as saving a child from getting hurt or helping someone carry a heavy load to the market. Occasionally, we will be called upon to do something more serious like saving a person’s life. But for the most part, we are ministering spirits here to aid God’s greatest achievement.

On that point I have no doubt, for there has never been anything else in all of creation that could compare with the human being, save God Himself. They are indeed the crown of all that He has done; more magnificent than any planet, brighter than any star, and more mesmerizing than any angel. To be made in the very image of God- body, soul, and spirit- is to be the envy of everything else. Perhaps today, I shall visit the market and see how I can be of assistance.

I must have been in a daze, for I did not even notice Azyel standing next to me, gazing upon the same beauty that I was. Azyel is my second in command and my most trusted friend.

They are amazing, aren’t they, he said with a smile. Every time I look upon them, I appreciate something new.

Yes, I said, I was thinking the same thing.

Will you be visiting the market today?

Yes, Azyel, as is my habit.

And will you see her today? Azyel had a mischievous smile on his face like a young man teasing his friend about an infatuation.

And what is that supposed to mean, old friend? I tried to play it off as a joke, but we both knew the truth. There was a certain young woman named Zillah who worked with her parents at their livestock stand, and she was of exceptional beauty. Her hair was like long spun gold and her eyes were deep and emotional. Yes, I was quite taken with her. I loved to stop by and talk with Zillah; I could listen to her go on for hours about the simplest of things. Her voice was like the singing of a thousand angels.

Come now, Semyaja, we all know how you feel about Zillah. Azyel stared longingly into the distance. To be honest, every one of us has someone like that in our lives.

I turned to him with that same smile that he just had. Really, Azyel? And what is the young maiden’s name, if I might ask?

Does it really matter? The smile disappeared from his face. We are not free to do anything about it.

I stared off into the distance as well. Yes, I am painfully aware of that. God has forbidden any kind of physical relationship with the humans.
