SC.6 INT. AIRCRAFT CARRIER - DAY
Ricky Davis is on his bunk, reading a book.
Cut to Kevin Franklin and others entering that area.
Franklin: "Everybody up! You know the routine. We're just doing it before we get to port. Get your
bunks and lockers open."
The dog handler, 1st Class Petty Officer Jose Ruiz, leads the dog, Briscoe, around the berth. It sniffs various places. They make their way to a group of lockers between three bunks, where Ricky Davis's bunk is, and the three across from them. Briscoe's head is in one of the lockers. He stops moving and barks.
Ruiz: Got something over here.
Franklin walks up beside Ruiz.
Franklin: Where?
Ruiz points at the locker. Franklin looks at the name on the locker door. The name McBride is on the door.
Franklin: McBride. Where you at?
Cut to Scott McBride stepping forward.
McBride: Right here.
Franklin: Anything in there you wanna tell me about?
McBride is fidgeting. He is nervous.
McBride: Uh, no. Ain't nothin' in there that I can't have.
Franklin: "You sure about that? Cause I'm willing to bet this here dog doesn't bark unless there's a
good reason. Sure you wanna stick with that story?"
McBride: I'm sure. I'm tellin' you the truth.
Franklin: I hope so, cause I hate it when people lie to me. It just pisses me off, and I go the extra distance to make sure they get slammed. Let's see how I'll be treating you.
Franklin goes through the locker. He pulls out a small bag with marijuana in it. He looks at McBride.
Franklin: Shouldn't have lied to me. I hate it when people lie to me, thinking I'm stupid or something.
Franklin looks at the other men who came with him.
Franklin: Take his ass to the brig.
Mike O'Connell nods.
O'Connell: Got it covered. C'mon, McBride.
O'Connell and another man walk McBride away.
Cut to Franklin and Ruiz. Franklin nods at the lockers.
Franklin: Let's keep going.
Ruiz: Okay. C'mon, Briscoe. Let's see if anyone else has anything.
Briscoe goes through three more lockers before coming Ricky's.
Cut to Ricky looking at Briscoe. He looks away and sees Franklin staring at him. Ricky isn't phased and takes a bite of the candy bar he's holding.
Ruiz(Off Camera): The rest of the lockers are clean.
Franklin looks at Ruiz.
Franklin: You sure?
Ruiz: Positive. Briscoe didn't give a signal, so I know there's nothin' in them.
Franklin: Check the bunks.
Cut to Briscoe sniffing bunks, including Ricky's.
Cut to Ruiz.
Ruiz: We're good here.
Franklin looks at Ricky.
Franklin: You sure?
Ruiz(Off Camera): Yep.
Franklin walks up to Ricky and stares at him for a moment.
Franklin: "You think you're slick. That's okay, cause all you guys smuggling shit think you are. You're
gonna screw up, and I'll be there when you do."
Ricky: "I don't know what the hell you're talkin' about. You know, you shouldn't be making allegations
like that when you can't back them up. I'll be filing a complaint with your superior over that
comment."
Franklin: Feel free to do so. That's your right. I can give you directions to his office if you like.
Ricky: No thanks. I know where his office is.
Franklin: "Just one time, Davis. Just one time. You mess up once and I'm gonna nail your ass. Believe
that."
Ricky: Screw you, Franklin.
Franklin walks backward, holding up one finger.
Franklin(whispering): Just once.
Ricky holds up a hand, flipping him off.
