THE VIEWPOINT OF MOST AFRICAN PENTECOSTALS
Introduction
Justification as a teaching and doctrine of the church is supported by both Old and New Testaments, yet it seems the doctrine has been highlighted more in the epistles of Paul especially in the book of Romans. Before Paul stated that all are justified freely
(Romans 3:24), he first mentioned the state of humanity before the episode of justification, which is about the fall of humanity for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
(Roman 3:23). This indicates that knowing the state of human beings before and after the fall is as important as knowing that the good Lord has justified the sinner.
The disobedience of Adam and Eve marred the relationship between the creator and the creature, even though the love of God kept on looking for the sinner, the first couple continued to run away from the loving God who created them in his own image as he answered, I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself
(Genesis 3:10).
It is the just who can live by faith, the sinner cannot because there is estrangement between God and the sinner.
