    DEDICATIONS.

This book is dedicated to our brother Daniel who introduced us to many great works such as Lord of the Rings.  Thanks Dan.

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS.

We would like to thank the following people:

Our parents John and Pauline.  Our other Brother Daniel and the rest of the family.

We would also like to thank Paul, Alan, Jan (who’s guidance and advice have made this book possible) and the rest of the Hanley City Voices writing group, for supporting us and putting up with our poetry.  Without City Voices, most of these poems would not have come about.

Finally we wish to thank Margaret Taylor and Jared Legg for their editing of this work.

If we have forgotten anyone, then I apologise.

    FORWARD.

A collection of poems about magical creatures. Some mythical, some fictional, but all beautifully beastly.

    ALP.

    Germanic vampire.

    Brother to Bogeyman and Incubus.

    Male nightmare, he is.

    Torment of women’s dreams.

Drinks blood, but craves women’s milk.

    ANGEL BARDS.

This poem is inspired by and in honour of John Milton.

    Angel bards, crystal devils.

    Angel bards, crystal dancers.

    Immortal fallen, God’s heralds.

Was it really their fault that they fell?

Or were they just willing or, unwilling pawns in a chess game?

    Eternal justice, knowledge and love.

Are angel’s devils or, devils angels?

    Mother
