More Praise for Nothing Can Tear Us Apart—FRENZY!

Nothing Can Tear Us Apart—FRENZY! is a remarkable and exhilarating new book from Wyatt O’Brian Evans that dives deep into mental health in Black and Latino communities, and how we reconcile who we are. From the beginning, you are pulled into an astonishing world full of charming and well-developed characters. The narrative addresses poignant topics centered on self-development and overcoming odds. These stories are weaved seamlessly into tales of passion, drama, and romance. This book is a must for anyone interested in reading well-written stories for and about same gender loving men. I can’t wait for the next installment! –Jamal Hailey, HIV Expert/Advocate, Black AIDS Institute; Director of Programs, University of Maryland School of Medicine’s STAR TRACK.

"Once again, author Wyatt O’Brian Evans turns up the heat to 11 in his new novel, ‘Nothing Can Tear Us Apart—FRENZY!’ Following on from the events in his highly successful ‘Nothing Can Tear Us Apart—RAGE!’, ‘FRENZY!’ hits the floor running and does not let up! Continuing the story of Wes and ‘Tonio, ‘FRENZY!’ is destined to be remembered as the story we have all been waiting for! Get ready to be worked up into a ‘FRENZY!’"—Colin Gunn, Editor, ALL BEAR Magazine.

"Mr. Wyatt O’Brian Evans confronts a plethora of important issues head on in ‘Nothing Can Tear Us Apart—FRENZY!’ Great continued character development and command of storytelling, while describing physical and mental conditions that make this a worthy sequel to ‘Nothing Can Tear Us Apart—RAGE!’ Mr. Evans keeps the dialogue lively and the action moving along. This book has something to impress nearly all readers!"—Khalid El-Bey, Activist; ONYX Mid-Atlantic; Leatherman of Color 2016.

"In the compelling and highly-satisfying ‘FRENZY!’, the latest installment in the ‘Nothing Can Tear Us Apart’ series, Wyatt O’Brian Evans gives the reader strong and relatable drama, even more nuanced character development, and twists and turns. And, kudos to Mr. Evans for confronting critical societal issues. ‘FRENZY!’ certainly has universal appeal! –BRUHS, Book Reading Uplifts His Spirit.

"’FRENZY!’ is a page-turning drama. It’s the story of the survival of true love through events that would end most love affairs. It’s the story of one man’s trials and tribulations of life’s unspeakable events and the man who stands by his side. It’s the story of his internal and external struggles to cope with life’s issues from domestic violence, to child abuse to mental illness.

"Though at times the author details the scenario a little too much that it loses the reader’s interest for a moment, he then pulls the reader back into the story by describing the characters’ actual actions that would make anyone think about what the character will do next to survive.

"The author’s description of the various situations that the main characters endure makes the reader truly feel their pain and anger, which makes you fight for them to endure and live on.

All in all, this is a great book that leaves the reader wanting more! The story shows the power of true love. It shows the fact that true love conquers all. I recommend it to anyone who wants to read about the strength of having faith in surviving through events that most of us could not imagine.— R. L. Norman, Author, Honey Let Me Tell You book series.

"‘Nothing Can Tear Us Apart – FRENZY!’, is a delectable read! The story deals with so many relevant current day issues of child abuse/violence, unresolved emotional traumas and the solid love in a relationship between two people.

"The gripping dialogue kept me spellbound in the explicitly-narrated scenes. It was hot, steamy, sexy and mesmerizing while dealing with the pains of childhood abuse and bullying. Unresolved issues will always creep its ugly head back into our adult lives as clearly illustrated by the character of Wesley/Walker.

"Intimate Partner Violence and Abuse (IPV/A) is alive and well in all segments of society, and every human is affected in some way—either directly or indirectly. ‘FRENZY!’ deals with this communal issue in a raw, yet provocative style. It grabs your attention and maintains it throughout the entire manuscript. Well-written, the story pulls you in like quicksand and never lets you get away. You are caught, hook line and sinker! It’s masterfully detailed and beautifully written. You get to know each character intimately: I felt like I was present as the story unfolded! I was totally entwined in the happenings, literally living every word and unable to abandon the work until the end.

Wyatt, thank you so much for taking on the task of dealing with such an important topic, adding ‘real life’ to it, and also showing us the beauty of true LOVE between two people. My deepest admiration.Rev. Sandy Rodgers, Author, Educator, Minister and Radio Personality (Life, Love, Wellness: The Sandy Rodgers Show.)

    For Mom—Always.

Everybody’s got FRENZY! (Whether they want to admit it or not! Trust and Believe.)

Sometimes FRENZY! just sneaks up on ya. And in the blink of an eye, like some hellish fury, and (sometimes) without warning—it lurches forward and attacks its designated target!

    It’s divine victim.

But at other times, FRENZY! is sittin’ alone, farrrrrrr back in the corner, barely making a sound or even a hushed whisper—brooding, growing and growing—just waiting for something (or especially someone!) to finally release it.

Everybody’s got FRENZY! Some folk are simply too afraid to acknowledge it. To legitimize it. To embrace it! They’re so entirely petrified of its power, its consequences, its ramifications…its cleansing ability and effect.

They work overtime to stifle, quell, suppress…and subdue FRENZY! They valiantly try to push it ALL the way down, down, down—into the deep recesses of their heart, mind, core and (of course) their very soul; with the final destination being those dark, subterranean parts of themselves.

And then, something (or particularly someone!) comes along to ignite their FRENZY! Something (or especially someone!) so maddening, so gut-wrenching, that FRENZY! becomes an erupting volcano that spews and spews—and shoots forth volley after volley of holy fire, brimstone and ash, along with righteous indignation. All of this to-ta-lee engulfs and consumes its designated target.

    Its divine victim!

    Beware of The FRENZY!, Y’all.

‘Cause ya see, The FRENZY! ain’t NO freakin’ joke!

    Y’all feelin’ me?

(Hell yeah, I know ya do! Big Time.)

    Prologue

Greetings, my peeps! This is Wesley (Wes) Laurence Kelly, wealthy African-American celeb and entrepreneur, comin’ atcha.

Last time as you recall, I’d kicked Antonio (‘Tonio) Miguel Rios, Jr., my Latino monogamous partner and Chief of Security, out of the mansion and onto the curb!

    Why did I do that?

    Because ‘Tonio battered me!

I was the victim of domestic violence and abuse—generally referred to in the LGBTQ Community as Intimate Partner Violence/Abuse (IPV/A). I’d become another statistic.

So, why in the world did my soul mate, the love of my life, the man to whom I trusted my very life, violate me in such a horrific and shameful way?

Well, some shadowy, nefarious entity with a MAJOR axe to grind and score to settle orchestrated certain circumstances which caused ‘Tonio to actually believe I’d been unfaithful!

But as you know, I was not! I mean, how could I possibly cheat on the man to whom I’d given each and every piece of my heart?

These manufactured incidents caused things to spiral completely out of control! And the coup de grace was the day after my B-Day in early December. That’s when this mysterious, deadly individual had me abducted! Unconscious, I was taken to some hotel room, and it was made to look like I’d been sexing it up.

Next, ‘Tonio barged in, things got beyond overheated…and consequently, he battered me! As a result, I ended our union.

Oh, he tried to make amends, apologized ovah and ovah again, said he’d go into therapy, yada, yada, yada. But being as devastated as I was (Now, I know the word devastated tends to be overused, can be a bit shopworn. However, in my case, that word didn’t adequately describe how I felt!), I wasn’t hearin’ it.

So, I tried to move on, vowing that I’d NEVER again enter into another relationship! And, I was having this severe, insatiable skin hungah! I was in sexual overload…and ready to pop! I sorely missed ‘Tonio’s companionship and our passionate, electric, steamy, off da hook sexcapades.

As a consequence, I sought out the lascivious, freaky, and nastee services of Raciel (such a hawt name, don’tcha think?!), a 28-year-old, cultured, heavenly muscular, off-the-charts handsome, Cuban/African-American escort. I’d booked a suite at one of the most upscale, elegant hotels in metro Washington.

But just as I was gittin’ in da groove, and almost beginning to git tha nastee on with the scorchin’ hawt and handsome gun for hire, I froze! My love for ‘Tonio overpowered my lust, and I sent the escort packing. (And Y’all—Lawd knows he was packin’—and you know what I’m talkin’ about! LOL.)

And to my near-paralyzing shock, Antonio suddenly materialized!

I was thunderstruck! Dumbstruck, in fact.

We argued, ending up in the stairwell. During his RAGE!, a terrible, horrible, and tragic childhood secret spilled out of ‘Tonio, which allowed me some insight into why he did what he did.

However, as I tried to calm him down, I lost my footing, plunging down the long concrete staircase! I was comatose for months.

But thangs got even worse! After awaking, my mind had split in two—due to the traumatic brain injury, and all the emotional stress and turmoil I’d experienced.

The clinical term is DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder), also known as Multiple Personality Disorder. My alternate personality (alter) assumed the name of Walker, and was the polar opposite of me, Wesley.

He was rude, crude and sexually lewd. Ruthless and heartless, with ice water rumbling through his veins! Maniacal, diabolical.

After taking control, he (or he/I???) escaped from the hospital, assembled a goon squad—and swallowed up my life.

Walker—in full RAGE!—was able to hunt down and imprison Ruffkut, that shadowy, nefarious entity who’d manipulated events that led ‘Tonio to believe I’d been unfaithful.

And what of Antonio? Frantically, my baby tried to release me—but to no avail! Without a doubt, Walker had become the dominant personality.

After the thugs overwhelmed ‘Tonio, Walker ordered them to take him away! You see, my alter was acutely aware that ‘Tonio was the major
