The moving company stacked up the boxes taller than Scarlett, who was only five two. She looked at all the boxes and thought it was a daunting task. There was excitement packing up all the boxes finally getting out of the cramped one-bedroom apartment and into the three-bedroom house. Scarlett walked around the stacks of boxes until she found the one marked computer. She moved the two on top and carried it to the bedroom a little upset that her husband Adam wasn’t here to help unpack but when they called with a job, he went. He was putting up a Tower Crane and scaffolding on a new construction project and would be gone for almost a week. At least, he got the desk put together before he left. The desk came in a box from the store, and she had to laugh because a man who put up multi-million dollar cranes was cussing trying to get the desk done finally giving in and reading the directions.
Scarlett had a week off from her work as a home customer service position for the cable company. She worked three twelve-hour shifts taking calls troubleshooting the problem if possible and if not setting up an appointment for a service call. By noon, she had most of the clothes unpacked and moved all the boxes into the kitchen. There was a sound, and she didn’t know what it was. After three more times, she realized the house had a door bell. She opened up the door and there stood a woman with a dark tan and blonde hair as if she just stepped off the beach of Southern California. She was wearing a
