      I'm reading this more for Dorian and the curiosity and the description of Alchemy than anything else. I mean the mystery is non existent and treated at the sidelines, so the story about alchemy is much more interesting. I mean to think there actually could be a science like that, completely hidden from the world. The possibilities are really exciting. Dorian and to imagine his history, now that is a story in itself which is interesting. And that is why I am continuing with the series. So that I get some conclusion to the gargoyle that came tumbling out in Book 1.

      The side characters here are a little half baked and really annoying sometimes. Things happen so quickly or conveniently that things with Brixton or Max solve themselves out. I just, don't feel very much motivated to read or bother about them as characters. They're half-baked, to put it in the words of the French chef. The narratives here are literally plot holes the author forgot about. So, I won't even delve into them.
