Bruce had just got home from work. He worked second shift at a retail place. He was tired and glad to be home. He was moving quickly around his house picking up whatever trash that he could. He was going to have company and he didn’t want his house to be a mess.

I’m fucking lazy, Bruce said.

He was in his early thirties and he lived alone. He was a little overweight and had a beard that he kept trimmed. He usually kept his hair shaved short but not too short. He had on his blue work uniform.

He had just recently bought his house. It was a big two-story house that had more room than he needed. It felt good to him to own his own home. He just hadn’t been able to afford to put furniture in every room.

There had been a new guy that had started at work. The guy’s name was Terry and they worked on the same machine. Bruce and Terry had talked a lot through the night and somehow it led to Terry coming over afterwards. It had been a while since Bruce had anyone over to his house.

Bruce had been single for a while and had been out looking. He did have a son from a past relationship. His son lived in another town and Bruce tried to go see him every other weekend.

Terry was a young skinny black guy with short hair. Terry wasn’t like the rest of the guys at work. Terry liked to dress like a woman and he wasn’t ashamed of it. Some of the guys at work had even made fun of him.

Bruce had quit what he was doing when he heard a knock on the door. He knew that it was Terry finally showing up. Bruce went to the front door to let Terry in. He could see Terry standing outside through the window.

Terry came in wearing black tight jeans and tee shirt. He was carrying a blue backpack. A white strap to the bra underneath his tee shirt was showing. He didn’t try to hide it while Bruce shut the door.

Come on in, Bruce said.
