Introduction:   When I started my 35-year love affair with witchcraft, I threw circles in my yard all the time.  Of course in these rituals, I sprinkled salt around the outside of the circle to purify the ‘magic space’.  Looking back I’d say I used one carton of Morton’s Salt per circle which lead in the following year to a dead lawn in my back yard.  Thinking back on my start I realize how woefully unprepared I was to be a witch. I decided that this faith made sense to me, and I believe in the power of magic. But, and this is a big but! I had no idea what I was doing. Back then teachers were thin on the ground and so I sort of winged it in the beginning, mixing real witchcraft with movies, TV, song lyrics, and whatever my witchy friends told me.  That’s what this short book is all about. Beginner's Guide to Witchcraft is a primer to get you started on the path to witchcraft or simply to follow the pagan belief system.
