Can this world be a masquerade?
asked Maurice White, founder and lead singer of Earth, Wind & Fire. This is from the title song The World is a Masquerade
from the album Head to the Sky released in 1973. Some things in life are not what they seem. We all wear a mask to hide the pain that is deep within us, though the pain might have been years ago or going on right now. Our life shows internal and external scars. We are flawed people, and our flaws are what get us in trouble sometimes with those who are closest to us.
Some of us seek some form of professional help to deal with the problem, but too many of us suffer in silence. We do not realize it is a problem until it begins to rear its ugly head.
What do we do? Let it continue destroying us and others in its path? Or do we finally seek help for what is troubling us deep within? Those of us in the Christian community have a place that we go to for help when we are faced with such challenges. We go to God in prayer.
Secondly, we go to a friend who we think we can trust, and finally, we seek out our pastor or a professional. However, it is usually after we have caused so much pain that we realize we need help. Why do we wait until it gets that bad? Could we have at least sought some help? But we do not want anybody to know that we are not what we appear to be or that we have some major issues that need to be addressed right away.
This is a story of a life that was affected by the choices of two teenagers’ sexual appetite that caused much pain, not only to the unborn child but also to others who would later be affected by their action and reaction, cause and effect. There is no blame, it is just a teachable moment. God at work in His own way teaches us and shows us His love and His will.
See, we do not always see the results of such pain, because we do not put a face on it. The consequences of our actions are such a painful thing, but we do not understand that we have caused a whirlwind of pain. Hopefully, this story will share some insight into people’s actions and remind us that the results of our actions in life, good or bad, have a face, a heart, but most of all, a soul. The question of why arises sometimes. Why did you do it? Did you not see that your actions would cause you pain as well? My prayer is that God will get the glory out of this beautiful story of love, hate, and eventually victory. There are times when you must let go and let God take over.
This is what had become of my life. You come to the realization that you cannot fight forever. You must have peace and pursue it. I have always protected my feelings against pain from outside in doing so I isolated myself and found comfort in my solitude to be alone without being lonely. Hopefully through this, those who read it can see how the transformation took place in my life through a series of events, that ultimately led me to find peace of mind, through God’s grace and love. I was rescued from the depths of despair by the love of God, through the Word of God. I saw the Word of God, and I heard the Word of God, and it changed my life forever. Old-time ministers would say he came down through forty and two generations.
The first book of the New Testament called The Gospel of Matthew’s first chapter shows us the genealogy of God’s son Jesus Christ, the redeemer of mankind—the one spoken of in the book of Isaiah, 53rd chapter, verses 1–10, and the one who paid the ultimate payment for sin that had separated mankind from a loving God. Jesus was whipped and flogged for the sins of mankind. He was crucified to death, and was buried; he rose on the third day so that whosoever believeth in Him would have eternal life. The Gospel of St. John 3:16 states that God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. To live with God forever Eternal life. The hymnologist would say it like this: On a hill far away stood an old rugged Cross. The emblem of suffering and shame.
The Old Rugged Cross—I found that old rugged cross, and it changed my life forever. Hallelujah!
Hopefully, as you are reading this story or after you have read it, and you are moved by God to ask him to come into your heart and change your life, accept Him as your personal Savior. Maybe you have never thought you needed Jesus Christ, but I am a living witness that God will bring you through whatever you are facing—just trust Him as your Lord and Savior of your life. I did and I am so glad I did. I wrote this book to set the record straight on somethings folks thought they knew and tell my story as it really happened. It is not everything because that would be a very large book; however, it is just to let you see into my world, as I became who I am today.

There is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof is the way of death.
Proverb 14:12
Enter in by the narrow gate for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which lead to life and there are few who find it.
Matthew 7:13–14
But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness: and all these things shall be added unto you.
