The Auroras & Blossoms PoArtMo Anthology - Cendrine Marrouat
INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the very first digital art collection inspired by a brand-new artistic movement — The Auroras & Blossoms PoArtMo Anthology: 2020 Edition.
Cendrine Marrouat and I first started promoting inspirational poetry through our positivity-focused magazine Auroras & Blossoms Poetry Journal. We have always been keen to promote positive art and other types of motivational creative writing, in addition to poetry, because we know the great impact positive art can have on the collective consciousness.
While both of us were participating in National Poetry Writing Month, an idea struck for us to start a community-based movement similar to National Poetry Writing Month but to include artists and writers across a broad spectrum of artistic disciplines.
At a time when it is vital to keep ourselves motivated, focused and in good spirits as we feel surrounded by overwhelming negativity, creating art has such a wonderful effect that it truly deserves a platform to inspire others.
We anticipate this collection to be the first of many yearly celebrations of the PoArtMo movement that will showcase a variety of artists displaying an extraordinary level of talent and commitment to their craft. Every single contributor to this anthology has produced art that will genuinely move those appreciating it.
Enjoy the collection. We sincerely hope that it motivates you to go out and make your own art to inspire others. Spread the word and thank you for joining us!

––––––––
Earlier this year, David Ellis and I had an idea. We wanted to create a movement open to all sorts of artists. A movement that disregards credentials and experience. A movement that brings creatives together, celebrating kindness, respect, positivity, and inspiration.
Inspired by NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month), PoArtMo stands for Positive Art Month (every June) and Positive Art Moves (all year). It is an invitation to artists around the world to brighten people’s days through photography, poetry, short stories, drawings, six-word stories, essays, flash fiction, and more. The only rule is: positivity, upliftment and inspiration – one piece at a time!
Launching a new movement is always a gamble. We had no idea if things would work out. Yet, the incredible responses our submission call for our NaPoWriMo Anthology, which was released successfully last June, received, taught us that an anthology is a great way to celebrate art and a unique movement like ours.
And what a celebration it was! An explosion of poetry, interspersed with paintings, photography, and six-word stories (among other things). Words lack me to describe how proud I am to have edited and participated in this anthology.
The Auroras & Blossoms PoArtMo Anthology: 2020 Edition is not just a digital gathering of inspirational works. It is also proof that nothing can tame the human spirit that seeks to elevate itself above very challenging situations like a pandemic.
Thank you for purchasing a copy of this book!
