About this ebook

A vampire assassin shouldn't fall in love. So when I did, I knew it couldn't last. I walked away and didn't look back...until the man I loved was threatened by those I trusted. It was down to me to save him, and I wouldn't fail. I'd stayed alive for eighty years, but matters of the heart were definitely harder than taking a life.
My name is Evelina, and Dr Benedict Hamilton is my addiction. He's also the reason I'm going to die. Again.

About Evelina: From Blood to Dust

A vampire assassin shouldn't fall in love. So when I did, I knew it couldn't last. I walked away and didn't look back...until the man I loved was threatened by those I trusted. The government agency I worked for had betrayed me in the worst way. They wanted to control me. Use my mate as leverage.

I'd spent eighty years being the perfect killing machine. After all this time, they thought I'd bend to their will so easily? Didn't they know my bite was what nightmares were made of? And I wasn't going down without taking the world with me. I was going to enjoy every bloody moment.

My name is Evelina, and Dr Benedict Hamilton is my addiction. He's also the reason I'm going to die. Again.

This book contains vampires (good and bad), fantastical paranormal creatures, a very hot doctor and a very annoyed octogenarian with a penchant for blood. This quick read has a guaranteed HEA, featuring opposites attract, second chance love, and fated mate tropes.

    Prologue

My name is Evelina, and I drink blood. Not by choice, it is a necessity. I was turned in the early 1940s.  Germany was my home as a human. Vampires were everywhere in those days. And they took advantage of those fighting on both sides of the war. They made what we now call the second world war a bit of a blood bath. Humans were easy pickings back then. Still are now, to be honest. Rules now, though. So many rules for us 'creatures of the night'. Anyone would think we're psychotic killers. We are.

I escaped from Germany into the United Kingdom when there was nothing else to keep me in the mother country. Although the hunters were becoming popular in Europe, in the United Kingdom, with enough money, it was easy to hide in plain sight. It's the same in modern times; only people think it's cool to be a blood-sucking freak now.

It's not, believe me. If there were a glory period, where those in the know celebrated my kind, it’s long gone. But it was fun once. It's hard to remember now. I'm getting old—not physically, but my mind is tired— I embrace my death on a daily basis. In fact, I want to die. It's why I do what I do every day in the hope that someone, somewhere, will be able to kill me. I won't make it easy for them, of course. When it's my time, it's my time. The problem is finding that somebody who can do it. Call it my quest in life. Is that sad? Probably.

I was just twenty-four when I was bitten. Yeah, that's usually how it happens. Hollywood got some of the lore right, at least. There are plenty of bloodsuckers in that industry. Sunlight doesn't burn us. Garlic won’t keep us away—unless you stink of it and then all bets are off.  A stake would probably do us in—if it's tipped with silver. Yeah, silver. That's a good one to kill us vampires with, but only if you can break the skin and it touches their blood. Then there's probably a matter of a minute or so before it frazzles you inside out.

I do wear a silver pendant around my neck at all times. It burns my skin, but the pain makes me feel alive. It's about the only thing that
