    I pressed shuffle on my phone to que the music as I walked up the stairs from the basement section of the Qiuckmart complex, immediately the music boomed in my ears; it was DJ Snake’s The Half. I nodded to that stroke of serendipity as it was indeed a Friday and I was about to go off. I had my weekend bonus in my pocket and I was looking to blow off some steam after a long week of work.

    As I stepped onto the ground level of the complex I was hit by the various coloured lights of the numerous neon lights that advertised various businesses: STATEMENT CLOTHING read one, XTREME MEDIA read another, PIGGY KING read yet another not missing the very obvious QUICKMART sign as it was the largest around. Smoke was in the air, as it usually was every evening, from the mutura joint at the edge of the parking lot. The smoke was accompanied by the faint but tantalizing aroma of mutura grilled to perfection, this was perhaps the best mutura joint among the numerous joints that dotted the length of dusty Gataka Road, not only was the delicacy well-cooked but they also had rather high standards of hygiene, which
